I get stuff from all around the world, usually a week or so.Pretty good. Im waiting a part from 115k away,Ozzie Post email yesterday, my parcel should arrive 10 days but allow another 3-4 in case of unusual circumstances.I guess thats in case the pushbike gets a flat🤷

You could walk 115k's in that time.   TBH, that's real slack on their part. On a couple of occasions I've ordered stuff ex Auckland at 3pm one day and had it delivered to me by 10am the next day!  That has to go to 2 major hubs a flight & be processed, then a road trip across the south island, be processed in the local centre then delivered.
I was staggered both times it happened, but happen it did. Other times I have to wait 5+ working days from the same city for a small parcel to get to me.

Yeah Col, i bought a golf bag from Perth WA. Ordered 2pm arrived next day 12 Midday. Around 4th ks,something like that, incredible.

It's like that here too, I can get parts from europe or Japan quicker than from the UK at times.

Sometimes i get stuff from Oz. Always ask them to use Australia Post. Good price and prompt delivery.
NZ Post is a whole different story

I was in a bike shop in Brisbane.
I ordered a part, later found out the store has it mailed up from Melbourne.
When I got home I thought, Fark! I could do with a spare.
On the Internet, ordered another from the UK.

The part from the UK was cheaper and delivered to my door before I had to drive into the city to go and collect the more expensive one.

Lesson learnt.

A lot depends on dispatch time, I had pads from metal gear QLD dispatched soon after placed order, arrived 36 hours later. Ordered another item from Melbourne, 4 business days later its still on its way. Both Australia Post

Having spent a few years with Australia Post there are a few things I can say about them.
They are not the fastest provider but have the largest network, if you live rural most likely the last mile will be Australia Post regardless of how it is sent initially (this is slowly changing however).
Grog these are the very words I was told about Express Post, "WA has the least impact on service performance". That means if one of the leased airplanes Flying along the East Coast breaks down, the WA plane is unloaded and the East Coast mail is loaded on. WA is the poor cousin as far as Australia Post is concerned.
It is not uncommon for rows of ULD's (a pallet with walls) filled with parcels to  sit 3 deep and 3 high at Perth Airport and be there over a week before being cleared.
Parcels contractors get pittance per parcel and less for the second parcel if being delivered to the same place. The pressure put on them is scandalous and would be unacceptable to an employee which is why Australia Post contracts them.
Thing is, at the end of the Day and as bad as they seem, they are better than the competition, all of whom struggle with similar problems but without the established delivery network.
Lastly and in Australia Posts favour is how many parcels get delivered that are not deliverable by the poor addressing attached but the Postie knows the name and delivery point.
I had 24 good years at Australia Post, problem is I was there for 30.

I worked at StarTrack for 8 great years 2005-2013 we were 50/50 owned by Qantas/AusPost. When Qantas sold their half to AusPost the whole place turned to crap. I left immediately and never looked back. I miss some of the guys I worked with. A lot fled to Border Express with one charismatic boss. I went to Toll.
I could tell you horror story after story about freight delays etc. but I won't bore you.
