Cyclone and Rain Bomb

In Brisbane this month we've encountered Cyclone Alfred which was terrifying.
Now we're having a rain bomb delivering pretty much constant rain for 36 hours.
Working in it wasn't too bad as I only need to do corner twist locks on the container restraints or unhook the odd trailer. However driving on our highways has been terrifying, the idiotic drivers still doing 100 in the 100 zone when visibility is reduced by rain and road spray then hydroplaning and spinning off taking two or three others with them.
I'm trying to negotiate these highways in a 45 tonne vehicle.
It's quite a test mentally.

And a half full tank of gas...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

No I bought a GTR3 lol 😂

No I'm driving a Mercedes truck these days disc brakes all round with all the safety features including ABS which transfers to the trailer I'm dragging.

I'm always concerned with traffic cutting me off so I use the collision avoidance system 90% of the time and active cruise control set to 6 metres of safety. It really doesn't make it fool proof and with 30 years experience I'm always analysing traffic ahead mostly to avoid moronic drivers and traffic jams.

lurch

My daily commute takes me along the escarpment into Toowoomba. Somewhere around 0630 and 1730 normally. If you've ever driven along there chances are that you'll know what the fog can be like. Half the morons can't even manage to turn their headlights on so there's not much chance of any smart driving happening.

Rain finally stopped, nearly 1000mm for March.Added F10 fuel additive and a tank of 98 to mine, few hours run just to get rid of any moisture.Lady nearby not so lucky, council had recently changed parking layout and piping for new septic systems,it re routed water, guess where to.Im sure theyll accept responsibility and compensate her.

I know old Trumpets leak a bit, but that's ridiculous.
There's always room in the world for a bit more tolerance and kindness.
