You Europeans often get confused as to exactly how large this country is / what distances are involved in travelling it.

(That's not a criticism, we just enjoy watching your minds get "blown")

If i were to travel 1.000 km by road i would have crossed at least 5 country borders and need 2 foreign currencies, depending on direction.

I saw an interview with some Battle of Britain pilots who said they looked forward to going up - fighting with Jerry was worth it, if it got them above the clouds for some sunshine....
