Hello.
Have a problem men my gsx 1400 K2.
runs great when cold, but starts to rattle when it gets warm, and dies when you let go of the throttle
Have changed the fuel filter, plugs and checked the breather hose to the tank🤔.
Anyone experienced this?

1st check the clutch switch and associated wiring as this can cause exactly the problem your having
2nd check all other connections in the loom you can find especially the ones in the headlight
3rd check your battery is OK and charging properly
4th check the all vacuum hoses for cracks and damage 👌
If these don't work come back and ask again

Also please head to the bar and Introduce yourself as this isn't Facebook.

Thanks

Hello Bard, tell us a bit about machine, there's not really much to go on with the above description.

How many K's does it have on it?  How long have you had it?  Did it just suddenly start doing this or has it slowly increased to this point?  What rattles? is it the timing chain? piston slap / knock? bottom end?

Just trying to build a mental picture of your symptoms to help with a possible diagnosis.

Oh yeah, as Seth said, pop into the Intro Section & say gidday.   Link below, have a look & you'll get the idea.

Kiwicol he's also asking all over Facebook so who knows if he'll be back
Hope he does as Facebook is full of idiots who haven't got a clue (+ a few good guys who will try to help but get lost in the noise)

He has been back since we posted, but no comments or intro, guess just looking for answers on his issue & doesn't want to be part of the forum.  :whatever:

Hi. The Km is 35,000  No bad noises from the engine, just runs like crap when hot. The problem suddenly started one morning, no warning the Day before.

I have ordered a new clutch switch, as Seth recommended.

Ok, that's a bit more specific info which will no doubt help other members in their attempts at finding a solution for you.

Runs when cold (high idle) but crap once warmed, sounds very much like some sort of a fuel issue.  You said there were no issues the day before, so I'm assuming from that you were out riding it, did you by chance happen to refuel when you were out?
You say you changed the fuel filter, are you talking about the 'tea bag' filter or does yours have an aftermarket inline fuel filter fitted?
The HP filter can also get blocked, but rarely at 35k.

Wonder if the pressure regulator clip has come adrift?  Have a read of this thread on what it does & how to check & fix it.  https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=1610.0

Usual route of checking filters, then tps, stps and balancing throttle bodies.

Blocked hp filter, teabag or fouled spark plugs. Check each of these issues one at a time to eliminate them.

Do you have an aftermarket ecu or PC fitted? They can cause issues too.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Hi. No inline filters, new Tea bag filter on the fuel pump. The tank was almost empty when it started to fail, new unled super 98 octane, but same issue. Was trying to find some loose connectors yesterday, and notice that the downpipe from sylinder nr 2 was colder then the the rest, maybe the plug cap/cable from coil or injector?

Hooli

Unscrew the plug cap & trim 5mm off the HT lead, then screw the cap back on. They can rot at the end & lose connectivity. After that try swapping the plugs & see if the cold pipe follows the same plug. You can do the same with the injectors too, but change one thing at a time so you know what's made the difference.
