I suspect get any decent tank you can find, then having it resprayed to match a K7 would be easier.

I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Had a quick look on e-bay,@ mick j  there are some tanks for sale on site . Not K7 livery though, but as hooli says buy one cheap ,repair it and have it painted. One style of tank, all years. :onya:

Thanks Eric but I think import taxes will stuff that idea up but an email won't cost anything so I might try.

Thanks Tally but all but 1 are in worse condition than mine, and that's in Japan.  I think import taxes will make it a non starter but I will ask the question.

Mick, how bad is your tank? I once bought GS1000 with bad tank. It fixed up perfect.

Got a reply from mick hone today and they are fresh out.  Plus they don't export bike spares.  Thanks anyway.

Hard to say as the bike still at the insurance depot but it's a knee shaped dent on the left side, paint is not damaged and the tank didn't hit the road.  I'm just looking at options at the moment as they have offered the bike back to me with some compo.

Sounds like it should be an easy fix for a professional or a lay person with the proper tools and a left as well as a right hand.

Dent magician type folk could probably pop it back out then.

there's a clip on you tube or similar where they fill to the brim a dented bike tank with water, then old mate drops a fire cracker in it, when it goes off it pops the dent out.  Could be an option

Bloody insurance company is now requesting that if I don't have a receipt for all my bike gear I must prove I owned it before the crash with pictures of the product or a picture of me wearing the product before the accident.  Apparently it's in the small print of my policy, who reads them?
So if anyone out there has bike gear which is over 5 years old and you don't have a receipt (all gear younger needs a receipt) take pictures of it, or you wearing it.
Get your camera's out and a newspaper with the date on it and take loads of pictures or the bastards won't cough up.  Or go to your local bike shop try on the most expensive kit take a picture and wait 5 years to claim for new gear.

WTF, cant you  send them a photo of your unblemished skin on your arms and legs and your head intact as proof you were wearing your motorcycle pipe? That's crazy that they want receipts and/or evidence that you were wearing your gear.
