Coopz

I've always wanted a Yammy MT01. There is one for sale near my place but the wife said only if I sell 2 of my bikes first to fund it and I'm too emotionally attached to them:( (I would never sell the 1400 though)

I've never ridden one but have always liked their oddball styling and similar dimensions to the GSX1400.

Coopz, yeah something about them, nothing else similar. Nearly bought one new.Theres a member on here, had or has one,he even has the tuning kits that were available when new, 3 stages, absolute rocking horse shit,

I would like something not so heavy. My 14 is sometimes too heavy for me in garage or parking places.
Some 500 to 800 cc twin, less than 200kg. Naked bike, not any plastic bullet.

T24, exact same thinking. Im going to Suzuki shop to try SV 650. I had v twins for years, will see.

My first thought is is a retro Triumph, Speed Twin or that sort of thing.

My friend owns a Yamaha dealership so I've ridden all but the most exotic. MT01 surprised me, when you decelerate or down shift that massive lump of metal moves forwards quite rapidly and destroys any resemblance of turn in. Freaking scary first time it happened.
Newer model MT10 is just a naked M1.

I've owned two Yamaha Warriors with the same motors I believe.

I liked the MT01, saw one at a gas station in the old TZ Yamaha red and white with the cheapo Ohlins on.
Spied this in Whitianga on our recent ride. Looks like it would be right at home with a 50 Cal mounted on it.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

My mate has a mint one, we go out most weeks- goes well but vibration is a killer from the 1800 ? v twin and if I pull in behind the draught from the exhausts blow my hair ( if I had any of course )  :)
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

1670cc but known as the 1700

Warrior handled well for a big cruiser. With a set of V&H pipes it was a car alarm beacon 😂 The riding style with legs out in front was a killer for my spine ... liked them enough to buy two but no longer

If you want to see one with a mounted machine gun, take a vaccation into eastern Ukraine.

bullet proof vest and helmet mandatory me thinks
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Thinking today... something I'm not great at.  :rofl2:

I'd love to put a 1340 Hayabusa Gen-2 / Gen-3 or B-King engine into a GSX1400. The downside is the engines are expensive and certainly not pretty or suited to the 14's style, and stuff like the downdraught throttle body's my be an issue, but 160-180hp from a stock reliable engine with no loud pipes or huge big bores or boost would be very nice.

I like the 14's looks, riding position, comfy seat, big tank, easy to get to anything etc, but really do like those 1340 engines.
