Anyone have a quick-shifter on their 14 ?

What advantages, if any, would it offer to an essentially standard bike...

I see this mob sell one...  http://www.ptr.com.au/gsx14/dqspull.html

I run a HM shifter on my busa, great but for occasional use only, the gearbox and clutch basket get hammered if you use them all the time.

TonyB used to have one on the 14 he had an accident on, which I think Tallman has now. Tony had the Dynojet one (from memory), which linked up with his PCIII.

You' have to ask TonyB for more details as after that I don't have anymore.

Are any other mods needed ( to linkages etc) ?
"push type" Dynojet quickshifter for PCV have right hand mail tread and left hand femail tread. Original linkage have right-hand tread on one end and left hand on other. Because of this, original linkage could not be used with this quickshofter.

There is also other quickshifters beside what I have , but I do not know what treads they have. You can use any push-type of them, because they are basically just off>on type switches. The length of new linkage depends of quickshifter dimensions. Connected, they have to be same length as OEM linkage is.
I use staines steel M6 left hand tread rod, which I get on ebay, to substitute OEM linkage.

What revs do you have the quickshifter kick in at?

I gather you can set them so they don't activate under a certain RPM so you aren't constantly kicking up gears in traffic....

How does the quickshifter tie in with the PC3?  As in by what connections? I can't find any installation manual etc to figure it out.

And is any change to maps required?  I wouldn't have thought so but....
