Those wishing to get their clocks modded for both Blue LED's and/or gear indicator, can contact Thommohawk by pm'ing him from his website (which gives details of the modifications):

May I add my comment?  Many moons ago, I saw a set of these dials that Thommohawk had modified.  They are the business!  Unfortunately I had just fitted a Digibox gear indicator to my 1400 so I couldn't justify the cost at the time.  However, I was so impressed by them, I asked him if he could do a similar mod for my Hayabusa.
Within a week or so he had obtained a set of instruments, modified them to indicate the gears selected, and sent them to me to evaluate them.  All without cost to me or any promises to buy them.  Once I had trialled them for a week or two, I sent my own instrument set for white dials (silver, but looked white), blue LED backlights and red gear position LEDs.  They came back and I had them fitted for 10 years or so, until my knackered knees and wrists forced me to sell my lovely all white Busa on.
Thommohawk was a genuinely nice chap, gave well considered advice and great to deal with.  A real gent!
The instruments are in my experience, reliable and effective.

I have a 2003 GSX1400 owned since new (Blue and White of course).  I have a 1977 Suzuki GT380 café racer and A Japanese import Yamaha XG250 Tricker.  I'm interested in anything mechanical.  Was an aircraft technician / inspector, but I took early retirement - because I could!

Thommos stuff is amazing, been watching for years.Alan,  Giving you a set to try, top marks. Just my opinion, i like my standard instruments and my healtech gear indicator. Just never something i never wanted to better. The old story, each to their own, how we like it.

To be honest, I felt in love to 1400 after I find ThommoHawk youtube video about gear indicator mode.
At the time, I was seriously considering XJR1200, but finding this video I get curios, what is the bike it was made for?.. And this was the first step of long lasting relationship :)

Hello,

Can you please provide more information about this upgrade? As I understand you have change the lighting colors and gear indication was made in tachometer. What type of LED, resistor and other equipment require? The best will be if you can provide a connection diagram. And maybe you can provide a link to get a kit in the internet.

Hello UVI, please refer to the first post in this thread for information.

I noticed in all of his videos the neutral light soesnt seem to operate. Is that just his test rig or do you no longer have a green neutral light with his mod?

Thanks

I haven't looked at his mod for ages, but I'd say zero illuminating on the rev counter would be neutral, else it's just his test rig.

The neutral switch is a separate part to the gear position sensor so I can't see why this mod would affect it.

Besides I think I've ridden a bike with the mod & that the neutral light worked fine. It'd have to really, it's part of the same circuit that stops you starting the bike in gear with the side stand down.
