I recently purchased this piece of equipment and find it very handy.
My K5 has a twin pipe modification and has no centre stand, I can now drive straight into the shed parking the bike in the stand, dismounting and walk away with out putting the side stand down.
I easily slip the Oxford rear stand in to do chain adjustments and lubrication.

Hows that go with insurance?

Asking as I noticed on some policies it says the steering lock & another other declared security must be used. Obviously you can't use the steering lock there.

Having said that, my Hornet tends to live on my work bench so that never has the steering lock on either, but it is chained to the bench & shelves.

The steering lock doesn't work, obviously it got smashed when it gets stolen in the future.
If they get into my backyard and shed without detection they can have it.

After having a gsxr1000 ,love a mainstand !!!!!

Irish in Oz

I love a mainstand as well Roo, wouldn't remove one but that's the way I bought the bike, it originally had a bazooka, now that's an idea go back to original.

I'm damn sure I've seen somewhere (probably on here) you can fit the early main stand to later bikes with lots of washers as spacers so you've got twin pipes and a centre stand.

Personally I'd try a bike with the early centre stand first. Cause the 'foot pedal' comes out further to clear the LH pipe I find it gets in the way of my heel when riding so would remove it if my bike had one.

Question - why do you not want to use the sidestand?

I suppose if you don't have a mainstand you haven't got much choice. I find it easier to walk around the bike when parked on mainstand check chain for tension and lube if necessary, also to clean the left hand side. Some my struggle to put it on the mainstand but I don't have the problem.

KiwiCol

Hmmmm, mine is 99.5% of the time on the main stand as well.
I do that for mine because I feel it's more stable and because we have been known to get the odd earthquake here, n shit tends to fall over during those. Not saying the main stand would stop it falling, but reckon it's more stable.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Side stand 99% of the time, on a rear stand for chain lube, etc, or scissor lift under the front frame rails if i need to get the front in the air.  I have a centre stand hanging in the shed, hasnt moved from its spot since I bought her home.  Doubt centre stand would fit anyway with the Akra system she's running.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

They fit 'ish'.

You can put it on without the springs to stand the bike on it for doing work but it won't retract fully due to the Akra.

Oh I assumed you didn't have a centrestand - my mistake :)

I still have my centre stand fitted and I use a 50mm board under it if I need the rear wheel off the ground. I use the board under the side stand to have it stand more upright for space in the garage.

My bike was fitted with Yoshi
4-1 from new. The original system is in a box in the garage.
