Title: Lowest & Highest Milage
Post by: KiwiCol on Tuesday, 21 August 2018, 03:03 AM
Just as an interest, who's got the lowest mileage bike? (being used, not stored)

One of mine is 35,000k & the other is 40,000k (approx. 21,750 miles & 24,850 miles)  so I'm out, Sounds like Notty might have a very low mileage machine.

I reckon Hooli probably has the highest mileage, but we'll see.

So come on chaps, bung yer mileage up.

It has - seems only yesterday as well

As for the Tex - using it so much more than I ever did my bling bucket - just in for its 10k service next week (that's 10k in 23 months of ownership - on my 1400, I only did 10k in 9 years of ownership!)

Joys of having a bike that takes 30 mins to clean top to bottom to make it immaculate as opposed to hours of polishing to keep it shiny.

Mine was low when I bought it - 10,400 I think. I've put 3,000 on it so far, in just under a year. I don't think I'll win any prizes either way.

220,000 kms (137,500 miles) - no sign of it giving up just yet!
Bloke on FB in Aus with over 375,000 kms up - only issue to date has been fuel pump. Spent most of its life pulling a trailer (!) and now has a sidecar bolted to it.

35,000 miles on mine.
She had 25,000 miles on her when bought 11 months ago.
So its looking like 11k miles per year which isnt bad on a bike.

You could borrow Nottys for 6 months & double the mileage on it for him.  He'd like that.

It had 2k on it when i bought it 2 years ago with 11 stamps in the book -and had to change the tyres as Barmy pointed out they had gone very hard  :) guess the way FleaBay is going with 2k on it would have been worth £15k?  :rofl2:

Found this in a shop today. 3 owner's since new 2009 not even 8000 miles, you should be able to read the price tag in GBP.
Maybe all 3 didn't like the 14.

I've got the newspaper advert where the first owner sold my 14, it had 120miles on in the advert! that is less than a tank of fuel!

That shows they really gave it a fair go before getting rid!   Their loss, your gain.

A lovely Black K5 with 20k miles, 6k of them are mine

When I bought my K7 at 11 months old, the previous owner had done precisely 39 miles on it. He had subsequently bought a BMW and Harley and was just buying another bike so needed the room in the garage so had the dealership I bought it from sell it on his behalf. Still have the shop advert somewhere.

I bet the first thing you did was clean it though. All those filthy miles of road dirt  :stir:

Of course! It had 11 months worth of dust on it  :rofl2:

(Wife went mad when it came to the end of the summer though, I'd clocked just under 1,000 miles then from when I bought it (so bike was now 18 months old) and went to the man cave to strip it down a bit for winter/cover it up etc etc, anyway, 2 hours later the whole bike was in bits all over the garage ready to have a few coats of polish, literally just the engine in the frame. She of course didn't think it dirty/grubby, more that I'd stupidly pulled a brand new bike to bits. Over the years after that she came to understand look on with dismay  :rofl2:)

Of course now I have the Triumph, 30 mins with a jetwash and that's it. No shiny bits to polish  :bugga: Lost my hobby after all those years...but get out riding more   :boogie:
