Title: Cam cover bolts question
Post by: Alan H on Tuesday, 29 August 2017, 10:07 PM
Just wondering if these are the same on the Bandit 1200 and GSX 1400 engines.
Cheers, Alan.

I for sure hope so... Recently bought a set of stainless steel b12 ones to replace mines. ;)

Hi,
Fairly sure they are but give Just Bandits a call and Julian will be able to confirm

I fitted a set off for Bandit 12. Cost about £14 of eBay. There was a link off the old forum. Load of us bought a set. Little cheaper too...

Magic. Thanks very glad for the replies.
Looks like THESE (clicky) (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152657751928?euid=841207c8e62543ceb8c6685a6fb9343d&bu=43219406492&cp=1&sojTags=bu=bu) are good value then.
I'll get some ordered to swap for the skaggy ones on my 'new' 14.  :)

Them's the ones and top value as well  :onya:

Be gentle taking your old cam bolts out though, as you'll need to re-use the rubber seals off the originals

Make sure the threads & hole is clean when you put them in. Helicoiling the cam journal is a pain when you shouldn't have needed to do it & the metal is damn soft.

They are M7 threads if/when you need to do it btw.

If I remember right. Two are impossible to get a torque wrench in. Due to frame rails.

Unless lump is out on a bench. So be careful.

No problems to get the torque wrench in when I did mine. Guess it might depend on the size of the wrench and/or what you take off (took everything off as per service manual to take off head cover).

Typical - sold out and getting more 'in a couple of weeks.
Bet this turns into a saga, I'm dead lucky like that.

The guy on eBay does tend to do them in batches - so if he says in a couple of weeks they will be there (in a couple of weeks or so) - just got to keep an eye out!
