I'm leaving Newcastle on Thursday with old mate Wayne for Brisbane. We are visiting a mate who has promised to show us the best of what Brisbane has to offer. We are taking 2 days to ride up and back on some great roads so 6 days on the bike all up.
Weather forecast doesn't look good with thunder storms, rain and showers predicted but I guess that's just all part of the adventure.
If any of you Brisbane fellas are out and about on the weekend, I would love to meet you so, look out for us on a black 14 and a silver Sprint GT.
I add pics and progress as we go.

Ross - would love to catch up.  PM me your contact details etc.
Do you know what suburb you are staying in?

Ok will do.

Staying in Mitchelton Mike. Arriving Fri arvo and tea and a few beers at the pub. Riding with a social group Saturday and whatever mate Steve has planned Sunday. Leaving Monday morning.

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Well so much for that....................... The weather in NSW has turned to crap now too.
Change of plans. Now doing Jindabyne, Omeo, Great Ocean Road, Falls Creek, Cooma, Newcastle. (3000 Kms)
Organising on the run...........................Fun fun fun

Prayin' for better weather....

VladTepes

Sounds like a good run - bloody long too....

Might be a good idea as it looks as if it will be a bit TOO  wet up here Fri/Sat at least....

Good decision Ross.

It's not the best riding weather up here at the moment.

Cheers,

I think that I made the right decision to head down south. The weather turned cold and a bit showery but we still had an epic ride.
We did 3,200 kms in 6 days starting from Newcastle to Jinabyne, 620 kms in pouring rain, for the first night. Day two through the Cosciuszko National Park along the Alpine Way then onto the Omeo Highway through Mitta Mitta. About 8 hours of corners, no traffic, good surface and the weather held off. Absolutely magic.
Omeo for the night then south, for the next night, to Allansford before doing The Great Ocean Road and stopping at Ballarat.
Headed home then with an over night stay at Gundagai to break up the trip.

Brisbane will have stay on the to do list....................

It was Sunday and Vic school holidays which made the traffic too thick for any more than sight seeing but still enjoyable.
We at least didn't waste the time off and had a great time in spite of the weather.

You do have to be careful there of caravanners doing unsignalled u-turns across the main road.....

Snapey

I found the GOR the greatest disappoint ever compared to the Victorian high country. You missed some fabulous roads by going that way Ross but I suppose it's a road you have to do once in a lifetime.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.
