Now that my wife has started to come out more with me on her Ryker we are seriously considering an intercom system.  We don't ride in large groups but we do get separated so need decent range.
We are both been looking at different reviews but the more we look the more confusing it is so I thought about asking the forum for maybe some first hand advice.  The one that seems to be perfect for us the Fodsport FX7, does anyone here use one, or know anything about them?  I know the big two (cardo & sena) are at the top of the tree but they are also bloody expensive so I'm looking for a sensible alternative.  Any and all advice is welcome.

My partner and i have SENA SRL2 intercom. The cost was £260 per unit.

They seem to work really well. Our SHOEI lids are specifically designed to accommodate the SRL2.

Shoei GTair ii helnet with Sena SRL2 in mine and the good lady wife has a 60aud aldi intercom in her shark helmet. Sena is good as it allows universal intercom pairing. Not sure of range, but then she's always pillion with me.

Im liking the LS2 helmwts, but that means a full new intercom as well.

Think I paid 470-500 for the Sena, so that seems on par.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Jane has her own bike and the range varies a little on bends in the road, as it works via Bluetooth.  Mostly though, she can be 200 yards, or so, behind (or in front) and still communicate.

Fodsports FS1 (I think) here, about £50 on ebay. Can't fault it as getting 1/2 mile or so range and it's clear.
The only downside side is Shoei have groves for the wires to the mic on the RH side of the lid, these fit to the left. Just takes a little faffing to route where you can't feel it.

Make sure you buy the same brand of units. Cardio & Sena will pair up with each other but not as easily as their own brand. Cheaper ones tend not to pair so well with other brands. Better brands do have better speakers for music and sound deadening to reduce wind noise as well. They say a 1 kilometre range but they're not usually that good.
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.
