I think I prefer the look of the twin can setup so might at some point convert mine to twin. anyone else done their K5 on bikes ?

Not me but it's been done quite a few times. The left hand pillion peg hanger with the exhaust mounts are often sought after.

Many of us converted our later single pipe models to twin cans. You can retain the existing headers from your K5, but will need a new collector, replacement LH hanger (if you can find one, they are like rocking horse doo doo) and a replacement main stand (if you have one and want to retain it) off an earlier model.

Originally I owned a 2005 Black / Red model which I loved..
I sold it to a member on this forum in Scotland..
Then not a long time after I arranged to swap a Honda CB1300 for my 1400. So I owned the same bike twice..
Then I sold her on to a guy I know pretty well who doesnt live that far from me, so I still see my old bike regularly..

About 8 months ago I got that familiar itch for another 1400..I had narrowed my choice in autotrader down to about 3 bikes.. All were K7 models
BUT one was an 08 plate with a twin pipe conversion, done by the a previous owner.
It was that aspect which swayed me into taking the plunge..
When I bought her she had only done 50 miles in the previous 5 years!
She had only 6,300 miles on and literally looked new.
I knew within 30 seconds that I would buy her..
So although I didnt personally convert back to a twin silencer set up, it was very much that aspect that made me purchase..
In the past 7 years, since I got back into motorcycling I have had 13 bikes!
For me, the 1400 is overall the best all round bike I have owned.

I was looking on ebay for a left footrest hanger but nown doing    I think with a bit of ingenuity I can make up a bracket to hold the can, mine have been powder coated as well so not gona get a match     the footpeg will hide any bracket/bolt anyway.
im guessing the arm off the main stand is different from early to later bikes.

I'll keep my eye out for one. Some folk do remove them here as we get much cheaper road tax / rego for single seat bikes. Postage wouldn't be much.

it is - but not just the arm (called the tang), the whole stand is different from earlier ones
