Hi all

Decided to play with front forks today as its always felt a little harsh.
Front preloaded was at 3 so I've backed it of to to 5 rings as the manual says.
The rebound I couldn't really feel all of the clicks on the left fork and the right side is seized solid.
What's the best way to unsieze.

Any ideas would be appreciated

I would try some penetrating oil first but if that fails it's a fork strip-down.  You might be able to just take the top-cap off and give it a good clean and replace.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

I've put some wd on and will leave it a week.
However you reckon fork tops off and go in that way also could work.

Yes mate, I doubt it's the rod seized in the bottom as it's under oil but the top is dry, it's might even just be the oil seal has hardened and got stuck to the rod.

Cheers, will get it off next week and give it a good soak.

Could also be crud in the threads of the adjusters, go carefully, the adjusters are brass and the fork lowers are alloy, so slightly harder than cheese.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

It's not a very exciting watch but I posted up a clip about penetrating fluids in the YouTube thread.

It mentions the DIY version I use...  :onya:

Oily fingerprints on Haynes manuals is right of passage for me

Had a go at getting the adjuster off today and I'll have to drop the forks to do this. Never mind, wanted to change the oil and fork seals anyway
