Looking at the links @V_i_c_i  posted I can get just the plug itself landed at my place for around AUD$11.

or I can buy the whole shebang here on ebay for AUD$24 or here on ebay for AUD$30.

In short, I won't be saving any / much money doing it my way BUT I can make it 'custom' length to suit and with a latching push button rather than a toggle switch.

Does anyone know what all the wires in that plug on the bike, are?
I can't find the relevant diagram ...
I'm trying to find out not only the relevant ones for the Dealer mode bridging (that's actually in info I already posted) but if there is a 12V source there as well, for an illuminated button....

I suspect we need "Q" to answer that Mike, I just don't know the answer. May be worth pm'ing him, as I don't think due to work he looks in very often.

Well, it's does one of two things, ya know when ya walk into a dept store & see all the TV's going & they all seem very vibrant & 'loud', yeah? well, that's cos they're set in store / dealer mode. Makes everything brighter & more saturated in colours etc, now with the bike, dealer mode does something similar, it changes the ecu program to over fuel, changes the spark advance & alters the valve opening, all of this makes the bike a bit more of a beast & thus making potential buyers more committed than they otherwise would be.
Once you get it home, of course Dealer mode has gone & you're left with just the 14 as it is, adding this toggle switch, allows you to access this 'dealer mode' at will, course, your gas mileage will go down, but she'll handle & perform much better.

Or, flicking this switch (once installed) will display the error code in the speedo LCD screen - possibly.

I prefer the original scenario myself.  Just sayin.

I had a play with my Dealer Mode Switch yesterday as the F1 light came on as I was riding home.

1. Red light came on so I panicked, stopped and turned ignition off because for a second I thought it was the oil warning light!!
When I restarted the bike the F1 light was off again.
2. F1 light came on again a bit later on, so with the engine still running I put the DMS to the "ON" position. Fault code C31 was displayed.
3. I've concluded that as soon as the ignition is turned off, the error code clears and is not stored because if you restart the bike and activate the DMS again, if the fault has been rectified it just shows C00 in the display..Which is "No Fault".

I've checked all the wiring diagrams I've got here and not one of them shows the Dealer Mode Plug!!
I'll have to go out to the shed in a mo and see if I can trace what wires are in the connector AND what each one is.

Think there's a list of error code here somewhere, Dave barmy will know what C31 is - or where to find out.

@gsxbarmy

Ta Kiwi.
C31 is Gear Position Signal/GP Switch. I think I've sorted it..The fault has cleared anyway :onya:

Can't believe how dirty that plug is considering I just rebuilt the bike...Shame on me

There are only 4 wires going into the plug.
1.Black/White...To Dealer Mode Switch -ve.
2.White/Red.. To Dealer Mode Switch.
3.Grey/Red... Ignition switched 7.5V +ve.
4. Orange/Green...Ignition switched 12V +ve.

There must be a hell of a lot of sand & grit on your roads Froudy, it's hard to believe alright.  Unless you been down the beach doing a Burt??

The grit get washed around everywhere when I ride in the rain :furious:

Now doing a Burt down on the beach could be interesting and fun :onya:
