Hi guru's.

Has anybody had any experience with the domino XM2 Quck action throttle. I am thinking of fitting one to my k2 as the original seems to go on and on or is there a good alternative out there.

Would the original cables fit the domino or would I have to buy suitable cables for it. What's people's thoughts on it all.

Thanks.

Eric.

There is a Yamaha one that fits not sure if it's an R1 or R6 but it gives a much improved throttle action off to full in about 2/3rds of standard the gsx grip still fits it (I have Oxford heated grips so no problem)
You can also use a thin cable tie glued to the standard throttle tube to give a simular quicker action
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

01-0094 available lots of places, $20 or so. Think it gives 60 degree throttle, not sure.

Both I believe.

Someone posted a few pics & the difference once. I think the R1 is quicker than our normal throttle & the R6 is even quicker than that. 90 & 60 degrees respectively maybe?

Here you can find references and pictures of the R6 short throw tube compared to the '14 one and the R1 one.

Wow thanks for all the info, that gives me a lot to ponder over. It's something I'm seriously thinking of doing as the travel on the stock throttle is just to much.

Not much to add as all the info is in the links. I'm a big Suzuki fan and it's a common enough mod with other models.  A general opinion seems to be R1 tube for the road, R6 for the track / strip.

If you go ahead it'd be interest to hear your opinion and what you went with.

Competition use is the only reason you'd do this mod imho otherwise on the street you will need to be extremely aware of the response you're going to get. I'm happy to roll my wrist to gain the quicker activation and it costs nothing  :stir: :stir: :stir:

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Not everyone does it for a "quick throttle". The amount of turn needed is quite long on some bikes and the shorter turn is still very manageable and controllable as folk who have actually done it know.

I guess folk who think that a licence would only last 10 minutes on a Hayabusa might struggle a bit with it though.  :rofl2:

Have done less travel throttle action on other bikes, quite liked it, never found un controllable, used to it in no time, just seemed to suit me. Have thought of doing same on 14 forever, just a lazy old prick, havent got there yet. 🤣

One of the main reasons I was looking for and went to a "quick throttle" on the '14 is actually... down-shifting.
Let me explain :-)
My '14 stablemate bike is an MVAgusta Brutale 1090RR, which has (obviously?) a short throw throttle tube. Each time I was riding the other bike, it took some time to adjust my wrist to properly give the right amount of 'bliping' while quickly downshifting. And I like to ride 'smooth' :-) Changing the throttle tube on the Brutale is not an option...
