Went for a run on the GSX this morning and after warming her up, I looked to increase the idle but it wouldn't budge. I had a quick look and it appears to be maxed out ??
Is there an adjustment elsewhere to offset the idle screw to give it more scope for adjustment, if you know what I mean?

The bike is running ok but its got me thinking about it now.

Have you ever had the throttle bodies balanced ?
Tick over should be 1100 rpm

I had that issue once, trying to remember why.

I think it can only happen if an adjustment screw on the TBs has been moved. The one the manual says is factory set and don't adjust it. From memory it's near the balancing screw and I must have turned the wrong one.

There's no instructions on how to adjust it correctly, so it was trail n error to sort. As I recall it moves the arm with the roller on that does the fast idle when the SPS turns backwards. I believe I adjusted it enough for the normal idle adjustment to be right at the centre of its thread. Then had to set the cold idle speed back to 1,800rpm. That took some faffing as it only holds full fast idle for a few secs. So it tweak n try then ignore for an hour...

If that doesn't make sense or isn't quite right, sorry but it was a few years ago.

Throttle bodies were balanced previously and it ticks over at 1100rpm.
I'll leave it be for the moment as the bike is running ok. Yesterday morning, I felt that she sounded a little off after being warmed up and decided that another 100rpm might help, hence how I found the issue.

She's going to the TT next week so I'll leave her as is.

Thanks for the replies.

Me bad. I investigated further this evening and found the Idle Adjustment screw was stuck not out of adjustment range.

Well fixed Mate, give it a spray, WD or similar. I often spray all those adjusters around throttle body, Inox or Lanox. Dont know if those products available where you are. Lanox is a great protector, lanolin based, keeps the crap away.

Didn't know I had one  :rofl2:

Don't worry about it @Notty they only matter if you start your bike occasionally.
