Being vertically challenged was no problem when I was younger. However, age and the weight of the 14 was a problem and I don't want to change the bike- as some of you are aware I had replaced the standard rear shocks with shortened Hagon Nitros and bought a lowered Top Selliere seat. All ok but wanted to refit the original shocks to improve the handling hopefully and make the side stand not so vertical.
So I bought these, takes me back to th 70's and my platform boots  :rofl2:- and extra 2.5 inches ( was suggested I put them down my boxers instead !! ).The retail price was an eye watering £369 ($680Aud) eventually got them for £215($398Aud) delivered. They seem to be ok, will post an update after some ride outs, weather very wet at the moment and new tyres

I know lass who rides her 14 in NuRocks, so gains about 2" from them in the same way. More bling on hers though.

Notty - hope those boots improve things for you mate - and take care on those new tyres, the roads are getting damper and cooler.... :onya:

Daytona are a very good brand @Notty 🥇🥇
Wish they were available here 🤔
I've got my eye on a new summer boot that's perforated so breeze flows through 👌

Thanks @grog  :hat: I've had Alpinestar in the past, they're made on a thin last and I have AA wide sized feet. I have a pair of RST vented boots about 15 years old and they are just starting to degrade. I looked at the BMW Sneakers recently.

If anyone has a recommendation please let me know  :clapping:

Judging by some of the riders I see around Perth, flip flops are perfectly acceptable as riding boots all year round...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

These are my summer boots,Comfy  and well ventilated. They are army surplus desert patrol boots can't remember what they cost , they give my ankles the support they need as a kindly car driver parked his car on them one day in London back in my courier days.

Lowa are the best you can get for the mountain. Should give some protection for the bike.

I've used German army para boots for years now. Loads of support and comfy to walk in -they've also got a bit of a heel, too. Get them from a guy on ebay for about £45, although price depends on size. So cheap as they're used, I think from people who didn't make the grade. The ones I've had have been almost like new.

I got a pair of Alpine Star shorties last summer, they are comfy and seem pretty good, but I must admit they make me feel somewhat under dressed for riding.

What Notty actually bought:
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

Vlad my preference are the black or red thigh boots, bit hard to get on but they offer more protection in the rain
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Said before im interested in Alpine Stars. In my whole life would be first time buying dedicated bike boots. Always used work boots, cant see a problem. Hiker boots posted exactly same idea. Leather with ankle protection, steel caps, certified for work standards, good enough for me. 1/2 cost of biker boots. Ive heard all the stories about steel caps on bikes, makes no sense to me. Gotta be better than most frogwits i see, singlets, thongs, shorts, mini skirt girls, Harley vests etc. Should be law to wear protection jackets.
