I normally spin the front wheel when all is just nipped up, and roughly aligned, then grab the front brake and lock it off with a zip tie. This seats everything. Do up the bolts to snug tight, release brake then torque to spec.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

This guy is guru of suspension - a lot of information from him, I'm corresponding with him quite often :onya:

I just watched that & what a faff!

Once you've fitted your front wheel once you'll know how the fork sits on the axle & you can just nudge it as needed to get it in place (I used to have to do this on my 14 as one leg was slightly kinked by about 2mm at the end after a car run over it years ago). Worth doing the first time on a new bike to you though so you know the correct position. With the brakes on ours, if you leave them loose like that then the outer pistons will be too far out as the calliper will be hanging away from the centre of the wheel. However just tight enough to hold it in place, pump the brakes up & then nip up the caliper bolts would work.
