When my Sprint flicks the light up it normally 16-16.5 ltrs to refill, seems silly good on fuel to me. But then I'd got used to my 14's issues meaning 32mpg was good going & the Sprint's dash tells me it's doing over 56mpg.

Modern bikes are a lot better on fuel than 14s generally, the closed loop fuelling allows them to run leaner in cruise without risk of damage as theycan self adjust to stay safe.

My Triumph Sprint GT & my mate's Versys 1000 both have 21 litre tanks & ridden at the same speed we also ride 14s will get near 220 miles before reserve, neither of us can get a 14 past 160-180miles before reserve.

Geez!!  I'll get 250 miles on a tank any day of the week, could probably get a lot more too if I tried. Sometimes do, but then I get bored & fall back into me old ways.  Love that radar detector!

250 miles on a tank full KiwiCol, goodness me! You mentioning `old ways` took me straight back to `77 when I rode two-up to `tour` central Wales from my (then) home in Buckinghamshire on my Kawa Triple. Every 65 miles she was gulping air, goodness knows how many fuel stops we had to make - but do you know what, we didn`t care, it was all part of the biking adventure - no mobile phones, cheap fuel, cheap beer and cheap food! Brilliant !

Agree DP, just cos we're older, doesn't mean we still can't have adventures.
I try to do out of the square things as often as I can.

Yeah Col, 400 ks mostly. DP, my old H1,550 pistons, chambers and ported, missile. One quick trip was empty at 60ks. Worked out around 9 mpg.
