I don't know what is going on but prices still seem to be rising very quickly in the U.K. for our beloved bikes:

I wouldn't be surprised to find these bikes are not totally original and have been restored with polished forks and engine cases as a minimum. Many others I've seen for sale recently may look mint but have certainly not been totally original. Interesting to see if they sell at this price although they probably will as a couple seem to have sold for £9k recently.

I wouldn't say rising rapidly - if any sell at that price I'd be very very surprised, or even if anyone is mug enough to pay that sort of price. Just because they are advertised, doesn't mean they sell at or anywhere near that sort of money

Whilst prices are holding their own, that (frankly) is way way way over the top.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

My k2 was just under £6000 when new sold it for £3000 in 2006
And the 2 k6 we have should have been £6200 each new we got them for £12000.
The tax is a great bike and deserves the prices to be holding up well .
But in my opinion none even if totally are worth more than the new price .
Low miles on a 20year bike isn't really a good thing.
General tarting up mods& bling are to each person's taste and not every owner wants what others have done.
Thing change slightly with expensive mods like expensive tuning work and the likes But they are not standard bikes and each has a value depending on if the new owner want that done to thier new bike.
If any of these bikes actually sell for £10000 the world will have finally gone totally mad .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Much more than their price in Oz.
Stupid prices on used bikes in the UK. If I was buying I would get a new one.

I think that they were all purchased from the same person who collected them over the years, nice bikes but waaaaaay over priced in my opinion, good luck to them though if someone is willing to pay that sort of money it won't do the rest of us any harm  :8:

DP1400

At the end of the day its all about supply and demand, and, after all, nothings worth a penny unless someone buys it!
Personally I think its great that the `14`s value appears to be increasing. Its a great looking and performing bike - there are few (any?) new bikes out there today which have a decent retro look for whoever wants one, so a nice `14 has to be worth a look. With a bit of haggling you get a fabulous machine for half the cost of a new alternative.
I know of no bikes in the `classic` category which haven`t increased in value from their original new price - even those which were undesirable when new are demanding big money now, take the awful performing Kawa Z750 Twin for example....£3k plus nowadays !

Saw this today. A few ks on it but wouldnt worry me. 2005, PC and dyno, full Cyclone. Looks good. $5000.

Daytona

Dealt with these people before ,I reckon they will have paid 4500 to 5000 for each bike.

Just to add abit to my previous post,,my mate is a Suzuki dealer and he has just bought  an absolutely fantastic k4 for 5 grand ,,7,000 miles probably the best 14 I've ever seen ,,unfortunately it's red and black though..lol.

Big Phil

That's really expensive for a red and black one😂🤣😂

I think GSX1400 prices will increase over time, but they are never going to be a green-frame Ducati investment ! :D
