Some more info.

I have 2 GSX1400 but none of them is a runner for the moment. I have had a K5 for some years and that one have
soon 110000 km on the clock and was working fine last season.

Last year I bought a project bike which is a K3 (only 13000 km on the clock). This bike has the issue.
It was crasched and a lot was damaged.  Needed new frame which I got from Germany. The past winter I have borrowed
parts like forks and tank from my K5 to get the K3 in the Swedish register this spring. It was working fine in the beginning
but there was something anoying with the idle from the beginning and it sometimes died when driving as the idle dropped very low
when slowing down dropping the throttle like in front of a traffic light, I could see CHEC on the ODO when that happened.
No other codes as I don´t have that thingy to get them if there are any.

Suddenly one day idle was starting to be rough and didn´t respond well on the throttle, just wanted to die
when turning the throttle. Another day it didn´t start at all. Fuelpump and starter did but engine didn´t.
When I got it going again the idle went straight to 4000 RPM. I could increase RPM but it went straight to
4000 again. I turned it off and since then only Fuelpump and starter starts.

I havent´checked TPS and STPS but reasoned like this if I take the K5 throttle package they would be fine.
Issue didn´t get worse or better doing it so doesn´t think problem is in there.

Now I wait for the code check thing.
If that doesn´t give any clue next thing to do will be to take all the electrical wires and electronic parts
from the K5. If that doesn´t help...well, meanwhile I might buy an XJR to have something to ride on this summer.

These bikes have a tip-over sensor.
Due to age these can get faulty too.

Have you checked / exchanged that recently?

Just to rule things out

No that sensor isn´t exchanged/checked yet as well as the Regulator isn´t.
Tough to reach them down there.  :embarrassed:

Yes, starter and fuelpump spins, engine doesn´t go for now.
Maybe have some time to keep doing checks this weekend.  :)

Yami, does it have spark, just test at plugs. Fuel pump operating, does it have pressure. They are the basic first two tests.

Hooli

As far a I recall, the tip-over sensor cuts the fuel pump. So as you say the pump is running that sensor should be fine.

seth

The tipple over sensor is also connected to the gear indicator in some way as when I had a problem it started ok but cut out when I put it in gear .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Hooli

Now I never knew that, but then I've never had an issue with one.

seth

My problem wasn't the sensor itself it was corroded connectors on my k2 .
When it was 3 Scott ish winter's old and lived 10pfeet from the north sea back then .

It had spark before and the tank/fuelpump is exchanged from the K5. Either may have gone broken recently.
Don't have a gauge to check the pressure but I have ordered pump and regulator for the fuelpump. It will be delivered in the end of june.
We have to wait to find out whats wrong.
Meanwhile I will ride a XJR1300. Went to the shop yesterday and bought one. I'll pick it up saturday. Happy days
It's a 2013. Not my first XJR, had one RP02 model 10 years ago. This will be a FI one though.

Thanks, I have to, invested a lot in the K3 14. Gonna build it little my own way is the plan.
And I will use  the K5 to achive it if necessary.
