Thought i,d start a little build thread in hear, it will be a slow one, the new frame will be at least 6 mth away. Plus i work out the country at least 6mth a year. I,m going down the route of a 14 lump in a GIA frame. the reasons i,ve chosen a 14 engine are, oil cooled, no nasty rads and hoses, its a suzuki, its fuel injection makes it eaiser to turbo, but a turbo is way in the future. I,m going for an old ducati 916 seat, its old school and it has plenty room for electrics. Forks are gen 2 busa, currently haveing thug yokes made, i wanted OZ 5 spokes but not prepared to pay the price, i,ve picked up a set of 2012 R1 5 spokes, i,ve already made spacers and sleeves so the wheels fit the forks, i do need a set off 6mm offset front discs made, but that is in hand. GIA will make the swing arm around the rear wheel. i.ll post a pic of my current build with havelly modded bandit 12 lump fitted, its not far away from [/img]being done so it gives you an idea of the frame style. I,ll be asking lots of advice regaurding fuel pumps, electrics etc. I,ll post a few pics of the bits i,ve aquired so far, may give you an idea of the route i,m taking

That is indeed a thing of beauty right there @jimbob43

I had heard that GIA Engineering, Gavin passed away recently. A great and sad loss to the "special frames" bike community..

Its a massive loss to the bike building world, he wasnt just a very very talented man, but also a down to earth genuine bloke, no lies no hidden cost,s etc with gav, gave you a price and stuck to it, no bull shit. He got this one cut/shaped/machined in the jig and tacked up, then sadly passed away, was actually speaking to him the day before he died, seemed fine and upbeat even though he had underlying health issues, this frame is gav,s last ever one, but was finished by the new lads in spondon/gia, so its a bit of a halfbreed/mongrel/crossover

Its not gonna be a modern style build, want it to have a bit of old skool to it, in your face bright/dayglow paint scheme, turbo,d, thats orderd and should,t be to long away, picked up a cheap set of PVM wheels and calipers, seat unit will be narrowed a bit with a one piece stainless undertray, wont be a quick build as i aint finshed my last project

Nice...Keep us updated with photo's as the build progresses please :onya:

Now that is right up my street Jimbob, lovely bit of fabrication on the frame, the overall package is stunning. Andy.

Bike is starting to take shape, got my turbo kit from proboost, obviosly it was for a standard framed 14, ive had to alter the headers and the plenium, its not a bad looking kit, but the welding on the ally plenum wasnt the best, so a day or two playing with my tig set it finally fitted, still a long way to go but its getting there.
