How many miles/kms is everybody getting from a set of front brake discs, and when replacing what is your prefered brand ?
Having just changed my front pads I've noticed that the front discs are worn, they are also marked 'not less than 4mm' mine are on the limit although function correctly they have been on the bike for 37000 kms, my pads I change once a year at the beginning of the season regardless of usage.
My current discs are 'braking wavey' as were my previous set and unless I find something alot cheaper I'll 99% go 'braking wavey' again at an ouch cost of 440 euros!

Don't know as I have never changed disks in 42 years of riding.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Ive used Black Shadow on a few of my bikes in the past (mostly ZX9r's) and have even tested for them

they are a good quality brake disc and now you can get them with removable bobbins which is good as it allows better cleaning and keeps the discs floating

I was after new discs last year so was in the same predicament as yourself. After alot of googling/questions etc, I decided to try the eBay  £100- £150ish wavey discs. I also put Ebc HH pads in at same time. Totally happy with the feel (and look) and at only £140 delivered  (UK seller on ebay) I think they are good. Only done a 1000 miles on them so far.

I had to change original discs at 90 000 km. They were not worn too much, but those "floating rivets" became too floatinng, side play was about 4 to 5 mm..  I bought TRW Lucas discs, round ones.
And I recycled the old discs.

i put EBC prolight disc's in emma's 14 after she warped them
the round not the slightly wavey ones shes had no problems since.

Hi
Got to agree with Del. Had blackshadows 4-5years and fine. They had got down to the min so I had the rotors and bobins replaced £120 by blackshadow have no reason to think they won't be fine when we hit the road in spring

TALLMAN

Emailed Blackshadow yesterday  and got a nice reply back last night late, saying the no longer have discs for the 14 :whatever:

Really? I find that strange as surely the front discs are the same as those fitted to Busa's?
