Here's a shot of my Pilot 5's I scored as a bargain for $400 for the pair. The grip is increasing with a bit more wear and two up they have been very confidence inspiring. :hat:

New rubber and 90⁰ valve stems. Looking forward to getting out on them. Tyres are made in Spain  :onya:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Horse

Had a set on for 12,000 Ks now ,best wearing tyre i have had on so far, great dual compound rubber only comment i would make on the down side is they seem a little squirrily  in the wet . Might try a set of angels next as most say they are superior but the 5s are a great tyre as far as I'm concerned, happy trails, did you end up fitting them yourself ?

That was me Horse & yes I will be doing it. Brought the gear, (tire changer stand, 3 more tire levers, Michelin ones,  and a static balancer & weights.)  Thought stuff it, if I don't use it much I can always sell it or give it to the grandkids.  Haven't got round to doing it yet, long weekend here & been prepping the boat for it's first run out after winter layup.

I've got those same valves to install as well Col, got 4 of them for some reason??  dunno why or how.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Horse

All you kiwis look the same  my mistake, im with you the gear will pay for itself in a couple of changes ,no one else will damage your rims and a little job satisfaction to boot

Battalax T32 just fitted as cant get so many makes of rear tyres due to Uk transport problems and Brexit :bugga:
No pilot 5 rears available only pilot 4 - no Metzler 01se front or rear- no Dunlop Roadsmart 111 rears and I rang 5  suppliers  :bugga:
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Kiwifruit

Damn near went back to Pilot Road 4's as shop had a pair for $400. What stopped me was I wanted 55 rear profile. So finished up with 5's for $600 fitted plus valve stems another $34 for the pair. Just disappointed that the guys in the workshop are not a little more caring. Not hard to clean the old wheel weight tape off and not scratch the shit out of the valve stems. A piece of rag in the jaws of the pliers would have sufficed. Maybe I'm  too fussy or my expectations are too high.
Supply is not great here either Notty, l was lucky to get a pair. Interesting was that the front was made in Sept 21 and the rear was in Oct 20.

They're very similar to the T31s I've got on now Notty,  no complaints so far.  Good choice
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Tally

I've got Angel ST's on mine , a thousand miles on them now and I'm very happy with them  :onya:

Hooli

I've just put Avon Storm 3D XMs on my Sprint, no supply issues as I got them cheap about a year ago off someone who'd tried them for a few hundred mile & didn't like them. Judging by the wear on them that's because his rear shock is knackered or setup wrong...

Kiwifruit

They are a nice tyre Roo, had 3 sets before the 4's.

was sucking on a cigar in Pahiatua yesterday (first ride in months)  a guy rocked up on a Duc panagali thingy.....
I noticed he was wearing Road 5's !!!   great choice for more mileage huh ?   Usually those guys like the lastest sticky stuff.

KiwiCol

Yeah, sure you are mate.  Been a long time since I've seen a tire look like that, guess they're still around.
