There was a thread on this in the old org but obviously that's gone to wherever.

When I installed my Garmin I disconnected the battery.

Either I got to my office-hours job at 20 past 3 this morning OR the clock needs adjusting.

So can someone fill me in please?

Always catches me this one..

I think from memory it's ignition ON..Hold RH button until clock flashes and then LH button to set time..But I could have drunk far too much JD tonight and that could be totally wrong :imrgreen:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Ignition on - hold both buttons down until clock flashes (sometimes pressing the LH button fractionally before the right hand works) then it's LH button by itself to adjust hour, press eh button to adjust minute.

Or look in the handbook which you can download from the manuals section  :onya:

I've been trying to reset the clock since changing the battery with no luck.
Pushed both buttons together, right one slightly first before left one, pressed them fast, pressed then slow, pressed then 1000 times. Not happening.
I know they can be a bit fiddley but mine is definitely not responding. WTF???  :frustrated: :frustrated: :frustrated:

I had that happen on mine Ross, in fact spoke to "Q" about it, and he reckoned one of the solder joints had dried somewhere.

So....you know when you reconnect the battery it starts at 12.00? I waited until midday, undid my negative terminal just before then and on the stroke of 12.00 reconnected it. Clock reads perfect time now  :onya:

Yeah I'll let you know how I go with mine tonight.
Fiddliest way to adjust a clock ever....

I just got success by holding both button down for several seconds. It took a few tries until I got it though... :clapping:

In my bike is a little problem with clock ... Always when I disconect battery and connect, switch ignition ON and ride - on the start there is 1:00. I adjust the clock and when I turn off gixx, take out key and again turn on ignition there is again 1:00 ... (sorry for the poor eng). Anyone have the same problem ??  :confused1:

KiwiCol

Hi, I don't have that problem, but it sounds like yours is loosing all power (same as when you take battery out) when you turn the key off, which is really strange.  Is your wiring standard? as in, have you added or changed any wiring? which could possibly be causing this?

KoZi

Wiring is in standard option. I don't change anything so this is very irritating. Hmm but is in clock instalation some memory maintain ?

KiwiCol

Hi, I don't think there is any battery backup in the clock, otherwise, if there was, it wouldn't need re-setting after taking the bike battery out of the circuit.

Thomo (Paul) would be your best bet for an answer on this one, or Lord Barmy Esq may also be able to help.

That both buttons down trick worked, thank you gsxbarmy. I have users manual, but it is written "auf Deutch". Und ich verstehe nicht Deutch.
