So my question is: Do you tell the next owner what you have done to the EGR valve???🤔🤔🤔

Personally I wouldn't sell it privately unless they were made aware. However, I would happily trade it in with a dealer and say nothing. Not sure what that says about my moral compass🙄
The car will be traded coz it'll have iover 170k mls on it by then & not worth a bean.
On a  different note I'm considering a Cat C replacement when the time comes because by the time I've finished with a car after 3 years it's  not worth owt anyway. Thoughts??
Started out with nothing, still got most of it left.

With the mileage you do a Cat C is a very good investment I would say. That's a shed load of hours on the road.

 :hat:Check your insurance first:-

1. It`ll cost you more to insure.
2. Many insurers won`t touch Cat "anythings"....!

Never thought about insurance! Could be a deal breaker if it's very expensive. That said, I can't recall ever being asked on a written or internet proposal form if my vehicle was a Cat C or any other insurance right off to be honest. Having said that, never owned a write off so perhaps it's slipped my mind.

Up until recent times it was a rarity for me to own any car that hadn't been a write off...... should buff out  :confused1:

Why does a Cat C cost more to insure ?
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

DP1400

Technically, a Cat C shouldn`t cost more to insure, however, as many insurance companies won`t touch an ex. write-off (even a quality repaired Cat C), those that do tend to hike their rates `cause they can......

......just another area of the motor trade ripping customers off at every opportunity. :furious:

My mate just bought a 2018 Polo GTI.at auction. Fully hail damaged but low ks and perfect apart from dings. Cant insure it except has 3rd Party Property insurance, thats damage against other car or property. Says he doesnt care, if he crashed it, parts would sell for buying price. Cost him just under 6g, a perfect one around 35. Mighty fine little car, dents wouldnt worry me.
