Hi All

Decided to give the old girl a bit of a Spring clean as we are all in a lock down and unable to go out.

I tried to wash and lube the chain without removing the rear wheel but wasn't happy with the result, so out came the rear wheel for better access.
Then things started to escalate why not paint the rear sprocket black? so off that came, i only had an old tin of black smooth Hammerite on the shelf and tried applying that with a brush but the finish looked awful, decided to clean that off   :embarrassed:

Next job ending up polishing the brake caliper bracket and painting the inlay black. I noticed there was only one spacer plate screwed to the inside on the axle swing arm ( looking on the Robinson parts site they list 2) so have put an order in.

Loosely reassembled for now. Undecided whether to polish the torquelink arm  :confused1: To be continued.

I'm in a similar situation, started at the front of the bike last week gave the cooler a coat of black Hammerite, then the solid cooler pipes, then the outer body of both horns, then the center of the front discs, then freed the disc bobbins, then removed and polished the disc bolts, refitted and torqued up

Next inline is the centre stand, strip & clean rear brake caliper and mount, trying to prolong things by doing some work in the garden and proper work seen as I am supposed to be working from home but am getting the feeling now that this could be a long haul!!

Cheers

If you ask @gsxbarmy he'd say "If in doubt - polish!"

Hi again,

Decided not to polish the torque arm as it's finish is still good.

On rechecking my swing arm the K3 model only has one inner axle plate fitted on the left hand side, where as the K2 has one either side, so that explains that one :onya:

I've noticed in the manual it states 2 different torque settings for the rear axle nut, just need to confirm which is correct, i think that has been mentioned on here before so will look that up.

Need a break from the 14 for a bit, i'm running out of enthusiasm for it today!

Update:
Quick research in the 'General Technical Discussions' by gsxbarmy and Andre point out the correct torque values to axle and rear sprocket nuts.
Thanks guys  :onya:

I don't know about his ancestry - must be part Polish ;)
