It is still my intention Col. Ferry wont refund fare. So thats my argument with head office......why waste a ferry crossing that l've already paid for.  :onya:

Suppose it also depends on what Cindles decides.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

It seems like the entire supermarket supply chain must have imploded, despite repeated `official` rumours that its fine......

....our local Sainsburys superstore began its new opening hours today. 07.00 for the over `70`s and less fortunate. At 07.10 a local news reporter interviewed an old guy returning to his car clutching a pack of toilet rolls. He assured the reporter that he`d just managed to grab the very last couple of rolls, WTF!!! No hope for the rest of us then.

Its looking likely to me that we`ll be getting the Karcher out this weekend  :happy1:

Yeah well the local Coles here opened early the other day for the oldies - but hadn't stocked the shelves yet (truck hadn't come yet) so nothing for them to buy.
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

Bought 4 rolls of kitchen towels. Good value too, a corner of a square per day should last ages.
Indian, prunes and baked beans are off the menu

We make toilet paper in NZ, we're not about to run out, but where's the supply?   :whatever:

Maybe the manufacturers have taken a leaf out of the Petrol station handbook & are now going to artificially create a shortage to get higher prices.

It'd be a bugger if we all ended up walking round with daggs!  :happy1:

Well back to a slightly more serious note
I work in the nhs in Scotland repairing/modifying wheelchairs and as some of you know I have diabetes since 2017 so am in this group of people over here with underlining health issues .
I was still working but not aloud to see patients untill today when I was told not to come to work next week for minimum of 2 weeks but more likely 3 months or more .
Things are changing fast over here .
Hope you all stay safe .

Yep! Its getting serious here in Britain. The food stock pile brigade have finally reached rock bottom as even the Vegan crap has gone off the shelves. Now you got to be serious to want to eat that crap.

Nicola Sturgeon has appeared on the telly saying we should work together. So much for her usual "freedom" war cry.

Even the DIY stores are selling out and it looks like all those jobs we keep promising to do are now in danger of getting done.

But on a serious note it looks like most of the country has gone selfish and doesn't give a flying f$%k about anyone else. No Dunkirk spirit in Britain anymore. Its sad that some people have sunk so low.

I really don't understand some of these folks in the UK... Some of you know Im a Scot living in Austria and I love my home country dearly, but it seems to me they've been walking around oblivious to what's been going on outside their own little world until very very recently.  Now I get the feeling panic is setting in simply because the UK government has until very recently been in some sort of thinking they can control this.   Well....sorry but you are too late!  The genie is out of the bottle...the horse has bolted...that ship has sailed etc... "The tide will turn in eight weeks"????   Sorry Boris... I have a feeling your credibility has already been flushed down the pan, probably with half the toilet paper that's gone missing in the UK!

If I look at what's happening in Austria (and here we have had high restrictions on movement for the last 10 days!)   I have seen no evidence of people behaving badly, selfishly or in any way that does not support the community as a whole.  There is no shortage of anything in the shops (apart from hand sanitizer) - communities are working together to ensure that those really in need are supported.  That is the way it should be.....everywhere.

Sorry for the rant... Ive been in home office confinement for 2 weeks now...maybe going a bit stir crazy!  I would get the 14 out if I could... maybe in a few weeks time - one can only hope.  Stay safe everyone!

Nice post ARH.  :onya: Sounds like Austria / Vienna is a very nice place to live.  Decent people with a caring community sprit.  :clapping:

NZ as a whole used to be like that a few years ago & the smaller places still are, but the influences of other cities outside NZ & media (TV, internet - faceache etc) have swayed people here into thinking there's going to be a shortage on items & there's mass shopping being done for no reason which is creating shortages.  If they just brought normally, things would be fine.

The shelves are empty where bread used to be, tissues, hand sanitizer, the flour is gone? WTF?  is everybody suddenly going to turn into Betty Crocker or something?   Lots of people here are hoarding stuff & it's just madness.  The toilet paper is made here, the bread is made here, the flour is grown & milled here.

I really do hope this isn't going to be a new normal for us & also the rest of the world. Greedy, pushy me first & damn you attitude.  Why would you want to be part of that?  May be heading to small town NZ in the future, where I started & think that'll be where I finish up.

HI ALL
I am totally ashamed of the behaviour of the uk in as much as we had to be first to fight and say well I am going to the pub I don't care. I get that small business need the support  to get through this but we don't have to shame our self to be the one that can't behave its always the same we have to be first to shame one selves    And in front of the whole world  just do as your told and take it on the chin   I work in the prison and I will work or do as they say to get this sorted  and guys I don't mean anyone on here in this  its the wankers out there   That spoil it for the rest of the decent people of the uk
look check and look again  then you see the fool
