Have a look on https://www.robinsonsfoundry.co.uk/shop/online-store/suzuki-parts-finder.htm

You can look up all the part numbers & search them on google to find local suppliers etc. I know the fuel pump for example is about £30 on ebay with the o-rings as it's a Mitsubishi part. It's a fortune from Suzuki for exactly the same pump.

Thanks mate,

There are few original and OEM suppliers here (AU) as well and looking up the part no is easy. Nobody seems to have anything in stock though and the FPs on eBay are only the core part - replacing the filter and assembly I couldn't fine anything on eBay.

Appreciate your help and fingers crossed...

Cheers,
Dan

I'm pretty sure that apart from the 'cup' that fits to the bottom of the tank most FI suzukis are the same, so GSXRs etc etc

The high pressure filter is about £150 from suzuki over here, just for reference.

Hi DZ, don't forget to try Mick Hone motorcycles, I buy all my new bits from their website, delivery is reasonable and parts prices too. They have all the microfiche digitised too so that makes parking selection easy.

I agree that the tank needs relining.  Have you had a look at the throttle bodies? Worst case after standing for 6 years on the side stand is that fuel could have drained into the lowest one (cylinder 1). Unlikely with injectors, but you never know.  I'd say the fuel rail is "infected" too, and injectors too.

Please please please do not try to start the engine until you've had a look into them via the spark plug ports. The bad fuel can corrode the bores of the cylinders and piston tops too.  Worst case is an engine rebuild, but at least won't be an engine failure and game over.

I'm sure everyone here is willing to help and there's lots of info on here too.

Best of luck.

Thanks Eric,

Checked Mick Hone - most (that I looked at) was out of stock though (or is that just the web site?). Are they backordering from Japan?

She was standing on the main stand I believe and when pulling of the high pressure fuel line no rust dripped out - however, haven't checked the fuel rail and further. Had enough for the day after pulling apart the tank

Yes, would look down the bores as I planned draining it with WD-40 prior cranking the first time. Any tips on checking the bores in detail without using a camera that I don't have? Can you see enough just with a flash light?

Have never taken off the fuel rail / injectors on a bike, will check my Haynes to see how hard it is - don't mind flushing it if needed if I change / clean all the fuel intake anyway to be sure.

Cheers,
Dan

Removing the fuel rail is harder than getting thr injectors out, these just pull out. The fuel rail screws are a pain. They are JIS and a normal phillips head will most likely destroy the head, most replace them with stainless phillips head or socket head cap bolts.

But its not that hard, your best bet is to remove the entire throttle body assembly if you have to.  If no rust when you pulled the line off this side of the fuel system should be ok.  Injectors can be ultrasonically cleaned, but new are not that dear.

By the sounds of it the hpfp has taken the worst of it, but i would be flushing or replacing the hp fuel line in any case.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Thanks All,

Gave up on finding full replacement parts, so it is going to be

  • Taking tank for prof clean and reline tomorrow (will share before / after pics)
  • Found a wrecked fuel level sensor - if that does not work I just ignore it
  • Replace fuel pump with one of the many options available
  • External fuel filter and low pressure pre-filter as well, as discussed here on the forum :worshippy:
  • Still deciding on clamps vs clips and where to get the high pressure fuel line here in OZ - anyone?

That should fix fuel intake and we take it from there...

Couple of pics for entertainment:
