new headlight

I just fitted a new headlight to my "new" 14. It is from STEDI,($194.00) which is here in Australia. The wiring is a plug in direct to the standard harness with nothing else required. The halo (one wire) needed to be wired in.
As for the fitting I bought a "SKTYANTS" 7 inch headlight bucket off Amazon ($93.00) and with some very slight modifications with a dremel and a small bracket to adjust the height it was done.
The results are AWESOME... I know its not a very cheap option ( the twins on my previous bike were a lot more expensive and still terrible light) but to me its worth it. The high beam is like daylight and it is ADR compliant.

T24 the dimensions of the light are very similar to the OEM light, I changed the housing on mine cause I couldnt work out how to mount the new light in the old housing

I think i posted install details on here before.  The stedi light is a 7inch headlamp, adr approved for motorcycles in oz. Exactly the same size as the OEM and even a little shallower. Fits into the recess perfectly and the orihinal stainless surround on the bezel also fits perfectly.

Plenty of space in behind, but im running slim led water fall indicators, wiring is a bit lighter.

Heres a pic of the install.

I took a stainless jubilee clip 6" dia and cut it opposite the threaded tightener. Drilled holes in the cut ends and drilled and tapped m6 holes in the back of the stedi lamp casing on the tabs, so the ip of the lamp is not compromised.  Using the original stainless bezel and 3 stainless bolts with locknuts set radially, i was able to centre the light in the bezel, the bolts wound out hold it in place against the bezel, the locknuts hold the bolts in place.  The modified jubilee clip across the back holds thr light in place against the bezel stops it falling  out forwards. The whole lot then mounts into the housing using thr original screws.   You lose the up down tilt adjuster, but thats fine.

Final result is rock solid mount, no issues even on a 1100km round trip over country blacktop.

How about legality? Do they have E-marking?

Mines totally legal as it's passed several MOT's with no bother at all. My MOT inspector says the only problem he has is if someone buys the euro version where the low beam points in the wrong direction, that he fails. Other than that all is good.
