Today I went for a nice ride in the country, up to the mountains & along the base & back home, sort of a big oval. 

I brimmed it, zeroed the trip meter then set off, climbing gradually to 495m & eventually back out to the plains.   I brimmed it again just before home, 295Km from fill to fill. 

I used 15.88L to cover that distance.  It wasn't an economy run by any means, but mostly 105 - 115kph  Worked out as 4.87L/100K (20.53K/L) or 58mpg in old money.

Pretty pleased with that, if I did an economy run, reckon I could hit 55mpg, however, I don't ride like that, I ride for fun.   





Must correct the above.  There was an error in the spreadsheet I use, it still had the DRD adjustment for the 17 tooth sprocket in the calculations, the bike is back on 18 tooth now, requiring only a 6.5% adjustment not 10.5%, anyway, corrected calculation was:

295K, 15.88L 5.38 L/100K  18.55K/L or 52.5mpg.   Still happy with that.

6'5" barrels aren't that aerodynamic I wouldn't of thought.

Must be doing something right Col. Does the other bike get similar. I always work on around 19k/litre. With Speedys mod can easily get over 400 out of a tank. 450 would be a max. Bloody good i reckon. Mates MT10, it averages, day to day use, 12k/ l. Thats terrible i reckon, 240 ks from 20 l tank. Also has to have Premium. Would sell it.

12K/L?  That is terrible, I agree  Geez, wonder why a newer, lighter, smaller displacement bike is so much more thirsty than our is?   Odd I reckon, else he rides the ass off it all the time. 

Had a sit on a M109 at the stealership the other day, felt quite a nice position to me, fitted, if ya know what I mean.  Rocket3 feels the same, it fits,  as does a K1600.
