Hooli, just worked out my first light flashes around 210 to 220 in your miles. Yours is chewing it up a bit.

Standard K7's are very economical.

14 is my fun bike, so I ride it less, and last year city only. So, almost 8.5 L/100  :embarrassed:
But mine have Yosh cams and full Akra, and I'm quite sure not the best AFR. Also, engine would benefit from decarbonising - high torque on low revs have price...

there is my fuel fueling:

Always between the 14 and 16 km's per ltr. Once reached 17 on a long trip ( for dutch riders ) of 350km with average speed of 120kmh. Going to fit pc one of these days but don not expect any big differences in fuel consumption.

Fitted a PCIII and had it run on the dyno, now does 17 - 19 km's a litre. Good improvement .

On varied runs i`m looking at around 200mls to the tankful, give or take. I`m happy with that. I don`t use my bikes for commuting nowadays therefore i`m not bothered about mpg.

What i like about the `14 is its tank capacity/range. What i hate is having to stop to re-fuel!

Come to think of it, i wasn`t bothered that my Kawa Triples were breathing air after 60miles either...... :)

Vlad, think Northern answered your question. Same set up as yours. I guess you cant add 30 bhp and expect same fuel use.

Best I got out of mine was during a gentle ride out, I got 57 MPG, that's bloody good for a fat slug of a bike, cant match my 1200 beemer though.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Just checked my fuel receipt and actual was 6.02 Ltrs per 100 which is pretty shit considering a friends 2.5 ton BM X5 diesel averaged 6.8 over its  200k lifespan which a lot of that was towing alpacas in a big trailer

The X5 might be worth a closer look then -

That was a first gen 3.0 , when he upgraded to the second gen 3.5 twin turbo it was around the 8 L per 100, still not bad though

Just a thought here. Throwing a monkey wrench at the topic..  but perhaps food for thought.

Everyone "might" be getting better fuel economy than currently being calculated.

Especially if you have a speedo healer installed.

Using my GPS - before I installed a speedo healer, the odometer was about 2 to 3 klms out at a real 100klms.  So a real GPS measure 100 klms was only showing as 97/98 klms on the bike odometer.  Granted, not a big difference.  Speedo was reading about 108 for a real 100 kph.

When I installed the speedo healer, this fixed the speedo, so that 100kph on the bike was a real 100kph on the GPS, but it totally threw out the odometer.

I was wondering why my fuel economy went down after I did some calculations a while back.  Then connected the GPS back up for a ride and noted that the odometer was reading between 93/94 klms when in fact I had done a GPS measured 100klms.  Accuracy of the GPS at the time was +/- 6 metres.

Anyway, just thought I would point that out.  Make of it what you will, as no doubt every bike is different and tyre wear will also play a small part as well,.
Not to mention tyre size if you have put a different size tyre on the rear of the bike, but also the circumference of tyres - even the same size, are not the same and varies from each manufacturer.

I tend to calculate my fuel economy on GPS measured distances.

You are spot on Blue Dragon. I keep a fuel log & have a speedo healer fitted, yes the odo reads low.  Because I keep these records in a spreadsheet, it's easy to adjust to the correct mileage by using the factor of the speedohealer adjustment.
Or you can cover a known distance, see what the odo reads for it & make the formula based on the 'error' value obtained from your ride. Obviously the greater distance the more accurate your factor will be.

Something ive never checked Bluey.Speed i have but not distance. Will do this week.

Hooli

Mine has suddenly turned thirsty again, I've not refilled to get a figure yet but I was down to three bars after a steady motorway run of 62miles at 80-90mph. Something sodding wrong again, but the oddest thing is it feels like it's running fine & I'd expect it to feel wrong when drinking like that.
