you can hear it with bike running (no helmet) in teh garage - its not that loud if I'm honest no drop in power

Now I know its coming from the fuel pump - I replaced the teabag filter a year ago which wasn't that manky (been wae a lot durtier women)

any suggestions from you more intelligent than me folks would be great - what I would like to know is this normal and before I go searching what was the compatible pump from another Suzuki

thanks All

Recently i bought new pump from ebay and it is loud. Now I can hear it even with helmet on. Sitting in traffic light is also funny while turn signal blinks, sonds like police sirens in the distance  :salute:

It's normal to hear a slight whine. When it gets louder it's a good sign the teabag and/or high pressure filter is getting blocked.

I only really hear my fuel pump at the start when it primes but I ride with earplugs so mostly even start the bike with them in .

Did you clean the high pressure filter when you replaced the teabag? My teabag was quite clean but the HP-filter was manky. Fuel flow was 950 ml/30 seconds before cleaning HP-filter and 1100 after cleaning.

Maybe something loosened up in the pump/filter/regulator assembly.

Fuel pressure (43 psi) and flow (1200 ml/30 seconds) are the standard tests. Fuel pump current testing can tell you more about the condition of your pump. Unfortunately I can't find Ampere specs and other info for our pump. A rule of thumb is 1 Amp for each 10 psi. So ours should be 4 Amps.

Here is a link from Simonic who is happy with his replacement:
