Michelin Road Pilot 5's a bargain

Dropped in to Motorcycles are Us in Springwood  (formerly Springwood Suzuki) to check out replacement tyres for my Metzler Z7's.

Check this offer out. IT's a 180/55 rear plus 120/70 front. You have to bring your wheels in.

Is it a bargain ? Has/Does anyone here use or used them ? I'd appreciate some feedback.

That sounds like a good price, I got my set of PR4's from Team Moto a while back, it looks like they just stock Metzler now.

3300 km on Michelin Road 5 120/70 190/50. They are great tires. Only rode them in the warm & dry. Stand up in 35°C very well. They are supposed to be good in the wet and cold (5°) as well.

I pay around $520 for a set of PR5's - 190/50 120/70 - ride in ride out in Melbourne.

On my second set - great tyres whatever the weather!

When I bought my 1400, it had Michelin Pilot Road 5 on the rear and a Road 4 on the front.

No complaints, but they feel a little harsh on the road - which is what the Road 3's were also like when they were on my VFR. 

That said - I have Metzeller Roadtec01's on my VFR (past 8 months)  and liked them better than the Michelin Road3's that were originally on it.  More neutral, less twitchy steering feeling and also way more comfortable - not as harsh feeling. No change in suspension settings between the different brand tyres.

Once the Michelin's wear out on the 1400, I'm going to try the new Pirelli Angel GT2's, which I know are very similar to the Roadtec01's.

I have the Angel GT2's on my bike.
So far so good with nothing to complain about from me..
Not twitchy and they do inspire confidence.

Only tires, I get other places are winter spikes (for car). For those who live in southern hemisphere, in north, cars sometime have spiked tires - helps during winter

Front tire there is 98.39 which makes 235.18 for the set. At local shop I paid 264 € (430 $) mounting and balancing included.

GSXKING, that looks good price wise mate.

My last tyres were the 5's. great mileage, handling etc.

Now on Power RS's and they are sublime.

The front just steers me around a corner like I'm floating. it's quite a contrast to my previous tyres (Angels, Pilots, RoadTecs).

I've never had a chance to do a track day or what ever (too poor), but these bad boys feel extraordinary.

Going well after just over 1000 klm. (ow if I can just do something about the rear suspension  )
