This is a problem across the world .
20 years ago insurance was a service that was provided to motorists same size vehicle with same age rider was same price per year (slight changes up and down in costs for good( no accidents) or bad (claims on the policy) driving)
Now days insurance is a big market where premiums change hourly depending on how much risk the market faces .
Licence to print money for the companies as it's a legal requirement to have it to be on the road.

Just think after that amount of time you will "rediscover" the joys of your bike..
Blime if I haven't ridden for a week or 10 days due to bad weather mine feels extra smooth, extra responsive and extra quick !!

When you collect it ask what they are doing with any damaged but repairable or useable parts...

I won't get the chance mate as they are sending it to team moto Virginia for pick up. But yeah I'd bet they are making some $ on that too.
Oh well at least the bike is fixed.

You'll have to check the 'fix', as sometimes 'professional workshops' are not a careful and thorough as you'd expect them to be, just sayin . . .

I've had bikes "fixed" at a couple of different places.
One place, Sydney City Smash Repair, among a multitude of sins, forgot to reattach the rear brake pedal.
Another place, Collide-a-Scope, didn't bolt in the dash.
A third place, now since long out of business, used second hand and third party components, ran up the decals on thier office printer using spray adhesive and clear coat to stick them on, and somehow managed to put 600kms on the clock. All while charging for brand new OEM parts and First Class Paint.
