R1 and R6 throttle tubes are often used on big Suzuki's.

The R6 one is "quicker" more aggressive than the R1.

I'm not sure which year you need but remember there's a tiny bit of trimming somewhere on some models. It was quite common on B-Kings.

@Shifty
If you are building that turbo engine, be careful with that quick action throttle.
I would sometimes need a slow action throttle. Or then I'm too old.

Dumb old me, what do i need to order to quicken throttle. Dont like the cable tie idea, could it get jammed. Yamaha part sounds good, which part do i order?

As I'm sure you know, you buy the throttle tube. The plastic tube the grip fits onto that turns, that includes the wheel the throttle cable go's around.

I'd need to do a bit of googling as some are more suitable than others.
As I said, some R1 ones get used on B-Kings and are faster.
Some R6 ones as faster (less turn) again.

Not all throttle tubes are suitable though. Research needed.

I used R1 K7 throttle  :onya:

E: You need left grip too. Right grips are not changeble.

Did you find it made a difference?

I looked at old thread. I used to think i needed?wanted quicker throttle action. After some rides on MT10, same ratio as R1, Its a pain in arse, especially with that powerful motor. Slightest bump, hand movement exaggerated, not a great ride. Stock 14 throttle is better. That mod gone out the window.

ouch

I put a domino QA on mine positively love it  :onya:

@GSXKING
For me I find the where I hold the throttle when sitting at a constant speed especially on motorways ECT I need to move my hand to much as to much travel between acceration and cruising speed.

It's not always about advantage gained but it does mean if you use full throttle a lot its less strain on your wrist to get there, It like everything bike wise it's a personal thing . If you were say an aggressive rider who likes to open bike up then they have some merit.

Yes, BIG difference. One from best performance mod for me.  :8:

Thanks @ouch for the explanation. I think I'd be in the bushes if I used full throttle too much around here  :rofl2: :rofl2:
