throttle cable

Hi it's blackbeard
I have  a  question regarding the throttle cable I have a 2002 gsx1400 would a throttle cable from a 2001 model fit my bike cheers

The main changes happened between k4(double exhaust) and k5 (single echaust)
Where forks ,ecu,centre stand ,rear shocks,clocks and switch gear were changed .

Have ordered a new throttle cable the bad news is it will take 8 weeks to arrive I'm a bit worried about the throttle body it's self sitting idle for the 8 weeks not being able to start the bike will this do any damage to the throttle body cheers

It should be fine give it a good swift if carb cleaner to make sure it doesn't get gummed up
I've had my project bike sitting for 3 years with no problems .
So 8 weeks should be ok .
Remember to adjust the free play correctly when you fit the new cables as it affects how smooth the throttle is especially at low revs.

Fit the throttle body end first or it's a total pain then adjust once the bar and is fitted .

Closest to airbox is throttle off. It goes to bottom at grip.
