Hi There.

Just realised, searching my email, that I signed up to this forum in 2007 because I planned to buy a brand new GSX14. Well that never happened but last weekend I picked up an immaculate 2008 black one with only 25,000km and rode it home. She's original apart from a Staintune and a smoked perspex screen.

This was my ride - https://imgur.com/a/un6BDX7

The bike didn't miss a beat and did it effortlessly...

Will get her Vic rego on Thursday and already have purchased a cover, oil, filter, engine bars and aluminium bar ends.

Welcome Newtons.

The old forum went arse-up a while back and this new one was formed to replace it.

There's a few Aussies on here so you should feel at home Mate. I have a black 08 too.

I dunno whether I'd turn 'round and do Melbourne to Brisbane. It's a long ride but through some gorgeous country. The road from Grafton to Glen Innes was superb but unfortunately couldn't go too hard with an unfamiliar bike in the wet.

I'd planned the trip a couple of weeks ahead and had accomodation and band tickets booked for Friday night in Byron Bay. Had I anticipated the weather I'd have gone straight inland from Brissie rather than get soaked all the way from Brissie to Grafton.

NSW is damn big! Got to the Murray and could hardly believe it was only 200km and change to Melbourne. I think the furthest I did between breaks was about 150km which I think was good going. Outback NSW was fun riding though. Nailing the throttle in 6th to pass B-doubles puts a big smile on your face, as you'd know :8:

Welcome aboard Newton's & pity you had the bad weather for your trip home. That nice stretch of road would of been the Gwydir hwy. I just did that whole area at Xmas & there are some other great roads near there, like Waterfall way & Oxley hwy etc. Worth spending a couple of days exploring that whole New England high country area If you ever get back up that way  :onya:
