Hi. Rebuilding my gearbox with HD output shaft. The fixed gears those that slide along the shaft splines have oil holes up to where the shift forks sit. They do not line up ( std and new shaft) with the holes in the shaft. Should the oil holes in the gears be aligned as close as poss to each other or does it not matter.

cheers

As close as possible. IMO.
Read "2nd gear issue" from this forum.

Hi read the 2nd gear topic. No info on this. 2nd and all others ok. For info If you fit one it will need the collar grinding down by 3mm and 1mm spacer behind the rear sprocket. This is cause you'll get a busa collar with the shaft and the blackbird sprockets are wider at the splines. Overall the new splines are 30mm o/d vs 25 and the sprocket at the splines are wider = less load. Guess logically that even if the holes would line up, when the gear is changed and the selector fork moves the gear across the shaft it would be out of line.  Rebuild starts tomorrow

Hi.
Suzukis own service manual says on page 3-44 : "caution: When installing the gear bushing onto the shaft, align the shaft oil hole with the bushing oil hole".
You can download that manual from this forum.
I set my gearbox oil holes aligned as close as possible.
