Out and about today, super hot n humid. Had my route worked out, 1/2 way had a look at sky. Thought hmm, looks stormy. Headed for home, rode into shed with about four drops of rain on me, 2 mins later down it came. Not often im that lucky👍

Went out early for a gentle 150kms ride around country roads, taking in breakfast at a nice café in Marton in the Manawatū.

One of those days with little traffic, no-one trying to wipe me out, and riding the bike felt effortless...joyous  :clapping:

Late report.... we've been going riding on Fridays as the weekend clowns are nice to avoid.
From home in Tauranga we headed east to Whakatane. Stopped in at a bike shop there and got my boots. Then over the hill to Ohope for lunch. Carried on further east to Ohiwa where we checked out a nice little campground for future reference. Headed towards home through Taneatua then Edgecombe and back out to the coast along the Matata straight before getting on the expressway and home. 277kms for the day, great weather, not too hot not too cold.... just right !!
New tyres this week for our trip to the  South Island so
looking forward to those
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I see only references to "we" and "our"...I thought that, quite understandably, reflected the closeness of the relationship between a man and his bike  :smitten:

Did a local breakfast run this morning. Down the hill, North, back up.  Only 245K's (152 miles) but it was a nice morning.

I did have my reoccurring ache in my right arm, but I tried to exercise it by sitting outside a bakery and lifting a custard slice.

Much as I love the blue Gen-2 I do prefer the Gen-3 once I'm over 100 miles in.

Yeah, it actually overflowed not long back.
Lake Cressbrook below it is similar.

There were plans to clear an area above Perserverance for a new reservoir to do a pumped hydro system. They did all the numbers and had public meetings etc but it's been very quiet for over a year now.

Early run this morning.  Out past Jondaryan, around Acland, then North through Brymaroo.

Some of the roads were a bit rougher than ideal, but all fast open sections, everyone seemed happy to be at well over the posted speeds!

EE Canberra, proper aircraft that.

Nice to see some blue skies in your phtos guys, I could do with some antipodean weather here at the moment, it seems to have been relentlessly cold and gloomy for weeks now.

I did grab the chance of some hazy sunshine yesterday afternoon though for a short run on the Z1000.
My ride took in a visit to the Engine House museum on the Severn Valley Railway at Highley, but I'd chosen the wrong day. As it it schools half-term week the place was full of noisy kids. I suppose I could have hung around to meet Paddington Bear or watch the magic show, but on reflection I decided to revisit on a quieter day.

It was 6 degrees at best so I was glad to get back to my central heating after a couple of hours. Quick stop by the river at Bridgnorth and back home. Not much of a ride at around 40 miles, but still good to be out.

Didn't ride anywhere on the 1400 unfortunately but I did get back to my first (riding) love. The wife's DR650 was in need of a decent run and an oil change so I "borrowed" it for the day and went solo looking for new trails in some forestry I ride regularly. The lantana and grass was well over my head in some places. I had to hop off and man handle the DR a few times and found myself giggling like a schoolgirl

I've got a Victorian high country ride coming up in a few weeks on my 701 so there'll be a lot more offroad riding happening until then.
