When i was looking for a 14 a K2 was my preferred choice too, however i got persuaded with a K3 in the end.
Still always room for one more!

Good luck  :onya:
Hi Milts,
Nice bike that but looking for a standard bike with standard exhaust etc..I did make the guy who owns the k2 an offer and he said he would get back to me following day if he was going to accept but never did so could end up being his loss as my offer was decent

I'm still trying to get my head around valuation between Oz and UK. Yesterday lovely FJR 2004 with 8 thousand miles for 5495 GBP, then I look back and payed that in Oz for a 2007 GSX1400 in 2009 with 2500 miles.
My 14 in Oz has about 55,000 miles on it, well maintained and never race or rallied. What would it be worth in Straya.

Exactly your Km's & model Jeff. $5500

About 1500 more than I thought plus mine has full Givi gear and bagster. Thing is what you ask and what you get...

Do service books matter with bikes? Every bike I've bought has had none, as owners generally do those minor tasks themselves. All I'd be interested in is the more important services such as valve clearance checks, although from what i've read on these forums, they rarely need adjusting on these bikes.

seth

The main thing with these bikes is regular oil and filter changes
Air filter
Plugs every couple of years
Other than that
Chain and sprockets every 20,000 or so
Brake pads as required

I don't have an upto date stamped service book only the first 3 were done by the local dealer due to the warranty for each bike but the last 12 years I've done everything myself
So for you it might come down to questioning the owner about the bike and go on how you feel also look at the bike (does it look looked after is the chain lubbed things like that )
If it's running properly it'll be ok .
Saying that I'd give it a full service once it was home and start my regular service schedule from then .
If your really stuck in not that far from you and would be happy to help you out .

P.s. ask @Hooli about valve clearances checks has over 115000 miles and everything still in spec.

Good luck

No....did not bid.....
Guy came back to me in the last hour and said there was no history with it whatsoever only had the v5...his answers to questions contradited previous answers and as it was a 5 hour drive one way from mine I did not take the chance....might be my loss but Im sure another will come up

Well Gixerkid did you bid/win it ?

A Good Move. There will be the right one come along. No history, changing story, just no good.

Notty

Wise decision - another will come along - be patient  :)
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off
