Take clocks apart, maybe it just needs to be  resoldered, not hard job to do at all!

You can even get the small microswitch further apart.
If you look closely you can see 2 folding tabs, very very gently pry those open to see the inside of the switch.

I cleaned it the old skool way...With a scotch brite /3m pad.

Hi ya.  I made a tiny plastic button which was glued to the top of the microswitch button that the rubber pushes against.   This allows the switch to operate by extending the operational range of the switch.  Works a treat.
Good luck.

I have a 2003 GSX1400 owned since new (Blue and White of course).  I have a 1977 Suzuki GT380 café racer and A Japanese import Yamaha XG250 Tricker.  I'm interested in anything mechanical.  Was an aircraft technician / inspector, but I took early retirement - because I could!

Disconnect the battery & reconnect it bang on 12.00 & you're set.

Had a battery out of 1 of mine in the weekend, put it back in & it started at 1.00 instead of 12.00 - just do it again at 1.00 if it does this.

The main issue with that button, and the real reason people want it working is nothing to do with the clock. It's to reset the trip meters.

I had same scenario on my K2 - stripped the clocks and the wee rubber bit had slid off the micro switch - put it back on and not so severe when pressing no issues since then

i had the same problem with mine a few years ago @Del ..
Simple to strip clocks and refit/relocate the rubber button. The rubber is also available as a spare part..Part Number. 34124-31F10
