Finished my "winter" project (couldn't wait)! 1997. TL1000S front end on my 14. Real winter project will be making extensions to maintain standard front end height. Happy with cornering but too low for my taste. Finally my bike looks as I always wanted it to look! :smitten:

Nice job Mlivkovich. Looks 'beefy'  First I've heard of a TL1000s front being put on a 14, normally hear of Kings or Busa front.  Pleased you're happy with it now - albeit a bit low.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

If anyone is interested, 14's and TL's front wheel, bearings, brake discs and axle are the same, so money can be saved.

Interesting.

I'd live a whole TL though 😁

Awesome job mate.
That front end represents the 14 way better. 💖

Had one for 5 years. Nice bike, I'd love it too next to my 14. Interesting thing, that front end is from the bike I owned 15 years ago, so part of my old love is back! :smitten:

mlivkovich, that looks great. Well done.

Only thing I'd add, is having owner a B-King and riden several Gen-2 Busa 's I'd personally go for a more modern radial braked front end but that's just me.

We all have different wants and goals, not putting your work down at all. You've done a great job and my lazy arse hasn't got around to doing mine!

Looks great!  Really suits the 14 and makes it look a lot beefier.   :clapping:  Are you planning to raise the front end a bit and if so how?

grog

Looks really good, job well done.

I would also really like to have golden/black/radial forks and brakes, it looks more nasty . But this was once-in-a-lifetime-oportunity, I paid it cca 70€, so I can tell it was a gift! All I had to do is to take it off from the bike which is 100km away from my home.

My plan is to make 7 cm long extensions to raise it back to standard height. Also, I will have to buy new heavier springs because theese are way too soft even on TL.  Gsx is cca 50 kg heavier bike plus my 120 kg.... :whistling:
Will give my best to have useable USD fork!

mlivkovich

First step to make TLS fork work on 14 is to put stiffer springs. I ordered 1.2 kg/mm progressive springs (standard 0.75 kg/mm). Front end doesn't dive under braking anymore and it's much stiffer and precise in corners. Rode it cca 200km (100km two-up) and zip tie shows me that fork travel if far from its end , no bottoming anymore. Happy with upgrade!  :imrgreen:

Nice job Mladen, looks very good. :worshippy: Look forward to see the pics with the extensions.
