Just been watching The Sky At Night.
Apparently there is a Hayabusa heading to the Asteroid Belt to take a sample of an asteroid and bring it back.
Whatever will motorcycle engineers think of next. :notworthy:

First done with a Gen 1 Hayabusa https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayabusa
and https://www.space.com/41643-asteroid-itokawa-age-determined-hayabusa-mission.html

Now the Gen 2 Hayabusa mission is in progress. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hayabusa2

Andre that'll never catch on, I mean there's not even a robo-arm fitted to reach out and grab brake levers on other motorcycles...

It might catch on considering they used a GS.  BMW fan boys are more likely to see value in that!?

They would remove the handle bars . . . .
IF they had REAL faith in the technology !

Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Hooli

Hmm so technology can remove everything fun & skillful from riding, that's 'great'.

KiwiCol

It's a very clever bit of machinery. Great gimmic to show your mates.  As for riding,  I'd prefer to be doing it myself, as that's what I ride for - to do it, not have it done for me.

I'm all for labour saving devices that add value to everyday life... I'm absolutely opposed to devices that potentially detract from my enjoyment of anything... driving, riding, fishing, skiing, diving...whatever.
I'm not even a fan of automatic gearboxes but I can understand why they are a benefit.  Self driving cars or bikes?  Sorry... the world is going to shit with that stuff!  :soapbox:
