Green Frames are expensive. http://www.raidermoto.com/1974-ducati-750ss-greenframe/

Crikey !  A shame in a way as that means they are hardly, if ever, ridden.

I recall going to Italian bike shows in the late 80's and there'd always be one or two green frames turn up.  Hardly ever see 'em any more.

Vlad, i used to do same shows in 80s. Burke st bridge etc. Usual show winner, 900ss, put it up on stand with mirror under. 7 yrs old, perfect nick, 212 th ks on clock then. Ill dig up a piccy. Not bad for unreliable desmo bevel drive. One of the best motors made, IMO. Sprocket seal, always weak point, replace in 30 minutes.

Another little story, sorry to bore you. Bloke near where i used to work, right next to beach. He has a last model Laverda Jota. Spare motor and exhaust. Just sitting in shed 20 yrs ago, going rusty. His story then, wont sell, ill do it up one day. Now, it hasnt moved, nearly rusted away, makes me mad, virtually beyond repair now. He still wont sell. What a waste. Couldve been a classic sitting in my shed.

I used to chat with the guy who created / invented the Jota. It originally didn't come from the Laverda factory. It was a 3C conversion done by the Slater Brothers in Colington near Bromyard. I used to often see and chat the Rodger (Slater).

This Laverda was owned by my Dad's neighbour about 10 years ago..Beautiful bike.
He sold it for big money and bought a Triumph Rocket. Personally I'd have kept the Laverda.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!
