because of this: https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=5800.msg77689#msg77689

I decided to buy something that might make it a tad easier next time round.

Vacuum Brake Bleeder Kit

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15in1-Vacuum-Brake-Bleeder-Kit-Vacuum-Pump-Gauge-Air-Pressure-Fluid-Bleed-Tool/153905674235?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

As for the solderseal mentioned above - I'm not convinced but look forward to reports from those that try it.

I've got that exact kit Mike.  It worked ok on the bike, but didn't solve my brake bleeding issue on the boat trailer.  Air still stayed trapped.  Solved mine by having the caliper bleed nipple as the highest point.

Can't really do that on a bike though.   It sucked ok, but I found the seal around the bleed nipple wasn't all that good & kept letting air into the bleed hose. Just something to watch out for.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Agree about gravity Col. My sucker/bleeder uses compressor air to suck, old but good. Some systems, needs to be above master, longer tube all thats needed. Clear soft tube sits solid on bleeder. Need to renew every couple of years for good seal. Did MT10 last week, new pads, pistons back, hung vac bleeder up high, perfect result. Example of hight, Subaru clutch. Will not bleed normal pump thru way, a hundred pushes and nothing. Hang vac bleeder above windscreen , 3 pumps or suck thru, job done.

Crickeys! For 10 times more you can buy the exact same thing at Super Chinese Auto

I bought mine for $100 (2nd hand off Gumtree) which is still 400% more than you just paid. My hose ends were stretched though so had to cut them shorter to stop air from getting in around the hose on the nipple.

You win.

Never even knew those existed!

Is this the same thing? £10 delivered seems stupidly cheap. Does it really work?

@Big Phil my mate has that identical kit ,I borrowed it to flush out the old fluid when I did my clutch seal mod it works brilliantly, just make sure the hose is a tight fit on the nipples. I'm glad you found it as I'm going to order one myself as I've gotta service my brakes front and rear.

Big Phil

Awesome Tally.👏 I have reconditioned calipers to fit on my SRAD so will also buy ones of these kits to bleed the brakes😍

Tally

@Big Phil  . As you can see, that is the colour of the fluid that came out of the clutch, the bottle is sitting on the case of the bleed kit.

I've used those - very good, make a great waterproof connection, but do require some heating (and experience suggests leaving to cool for a couple of mins once heated up)
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Ordered and bought,1 brake/clutch bleed kit off e-bay £9.99plus P&P. :computer_type: :boogie2: :boogie:

Problem I have with the vac bleeder is the air leaks around the nipple thread and the rubber bit that plugs on to the nipple. So you can see bubbles coming out of the nipple but can't tell if they're leaking in or from inside the caliper.
So I get an empty system filled with fluid using the vac bleeder and finish by the old fashioned way so I can see when all the air has gone.
