Standard gearing? Love plain round discs. The wavy ones seem to look a bit odd to me on a 14. Not sure why. No offence to those who like or have them. Do the bobbins spin freely?  :stir:

steve porter

 std gearing, and yes the wavy`s look very of a different  time and out of place to me, like big wheels on an old car and no the bobbins don`t spin freely, not with fingers anyway

Looks a great buy. 👍 Ek & Supersprox get good reviews. Which model chain? My o ring EK, bought as a fill in, gone lots of ks and never had to adjust. Was just one of the cheaper to wear out sprockets. They still look same and chain goes on and on. Amazing.

Really not sure without looking at the box, it came up as a deal on eBay and I remembered you said EK were good chains, the original has 30 k on it now and although not totally rooted it is on the way out

Boring buying for me, new battery for wifes car. New drive shaft for mine, fitted shaft and found rooted wheel bearing. Another project for next week. too busy tomorrow. Golf day.  :cheers:

@steve porter
The Metal Gear disc looks OK. I replaced mine with one's copy of original.

Also dropped in to peter Stevens to check out Kevlar jeans and ended up with a pair of Triumph brand engineered riding  jeans with Kevlar lining and D30 knee armour in the fat bastard clearance rack for $67.95, buggered if I or the girl at the counter knew why so cheap, Original price of $299, the badges will pop of pretty easily

I've been trying to talk myself out out of the fact that the originals are warped, but I've run out of excuses and conceded that they are, I'm a sucker for an eBay deal

I bought my bike with 4000km on it, there was small pump on the lever at about 5000, I changed them at about 10k one disc was warped

steve porter

Mines not bad, but it's annoying the shit out of me

I had to buy four tyres for the Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag today, it failed the MOT on one & the other three got warnings as near the limit. They are old anyway, from memory the fronts are 2007 & the rears are 2013. Two have slow punctures too so well overdue.

I could have done without the expense mind. Did anyone know Asda now do tyres in partnership with Halfords? I didn't but they came out cheapest at £646 for four Goodyear Eagle F1s & tracking. Fitting tomorrow they say, what's the betting I get a call to say they aren't in stock?

@ Hooli
About 20 years ago I was going to buy a Jag XJR off a mate at a pretty good price. It was coming up for new tyres being Pirelli P1. I asked a supplier how much for a set he replied are they for a Jag Merc or BMW, I said what does it matter, he said they where different pending manufacturer  :whatever:. I got quote $600 each or about 300 of your pounds. I didn't buy the car.

Hooli

Yeah I think those are the original fit & the Jag specific ones have a J on the sidewall, I couldn't tell you the difference though.
