Hi all
First time poster
I'm looking for some recommendations, next year I'm planning on taking my bike to the Isle of man for the TT (Cant wait)
I haven't got any luggage to carry my clothes and bits and bobs,do I go for throw over panniers or a ruck sack?or bite the bullet and go for the more expensive hard luggage, which I don't think I'll have a lot of use from!
Thanks in advance
Tony

To all things 1402

I have a givi rack and top box and use oxford soft throw over paniers when going on trips .
The givi rack is quite rare these days .side rails for hard paniers are almost never seen thesedays .other makes of hard luggage were available for the gsx1400.
Just be careful on what year as the mounting for the side rails is different between upto k4 and k5 on bikes (folk have made earlier and later fit the wrong models with out to much hassle.
Sports racks are also available from companies like rentec and the 600/1200 bandit sports racks fit the f
Gsx1400.

Just had a look at the Kriega Tailpack seems well made kit think I might go down that route

I use a Venture pack & frame.  The bag is called a Rally3 from memory.  Holds heaps, expands upward & takes about 52L.

😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Mine came free with the bike so that was an easy choice !

Top box removes with a turn of the key, a lot of the rack removes with 3 half-turn clips. It only mounts to the grab rail no side rails, so the bike came be turned naked in seconds and luggage put in the hotel / motel room.

I also like a good size tank bag. Just personal preference but it suits me over side luggage. Keeps the bike slim and is taller than my rarely fitted screen, plus I like Old Skool maps and lists over electrickery navigation.

You can't go wrong with a Ventura. One of the worlds best soft luggage solutions. I've had Ventura racks on most of my bikes and I've got 4 Bags. And they're made in NZ.

I've got a full Givi setup on mine, it's great but it's a bloody ripoff. I've already had to replace the rack section once due to it rusting through, several years after it snapped & I welded it up...

To my mind the cost of the kit means it should last as long as the bike it's attached to, so replacing it after eight years was very poor. But there isn't really any other option that doesn't leave me with bloody expensive plastic boxes I could still use.

I done a lot of K's and carried a lot of weight with this setup.

I have a Givi set up same as Irish. Lucky to have bought most of it secondhand  :onya:

Prior to 14 always had Ventura gear.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

My bike came new with top box rack and screen, was a Suzuki promotion at the time. I was lucky to get the panniers from Springwood Suzuki Brisbane for $600 the brackets $240, I was happy with that.
